Talk to HR. They may have resources if you're truly struggling.

I worked backroom back in the day and due to the nature of the work pants didn’t last too long back there, at least not in the condition that was acceptable for work. I bought my pants at Goodwill, although any thrift store would do. They had tons of khaki pants in good condition, most of them were of higher quality and better brands that I could have afforded at the mall and they were much, much cheaper. It’s worth a shot for affordable work clothes. Highly recommend.

Above. Nothing wrong with that. I got a nice set of screwdrivers for 2 bucks at G W. Will go there today to check it out, same mall as my favorite Dollar Store. I'm a tight ass. Flying G-A ain't cheap.

Same I'm a guy so it may be easier but all my work pants (shorts) are from Goodwill. Khaki golf shorts are great. Difficult to find plain red shirts in good condition, most t-shirts there have graphics so most of those I buy new from Target, Goodfellow is better quality than what Walmart has.

Odd. I worked backroom, dayside, and my pants were always fine. But I did have to change shoes and shirts at least once a year.

Also highly recommend thrift stores for work clothes. I've found good quality khaki pants at thrift stores in my area. Way cheaper than new and I don't care if they get to looking sort of worn.

Even though I don't wear jeans for work (too hot), I buy my jeans at thrift stores too. They're already soft and broken in and any shrinking that can happen in the laundry has long been done.

Just had a huddle the other day and store director said dress code is changing this summer? Have any of you heard about this?

Jeans or khakis, no shorts, no vests, plain bright red shirts only.

Where do bigger people buy these things. Bullseye shop doesn’t really fit me and is expensive? I usually like to dress a bit nicer but all my stuff is burgundy or maroon.
In July its going to be Khakis or blue denim. Bright red shirts with the only logos allowed are small nike swoosh or whatever as long as your name tag can cover it. No graphic tees unless its a target one. We can still wear vests as long as the shirt under it isnt a graphic tee or one with big logos. Shorts are allowed for team members and have to be khaki or blue denim. But that's at my store....

We were first told like that but as the training progressed, it was written that we can wear tops with patterns as long as Target red is the main color.

Youre lucky. Ours has to be strictly target related, solid, or with a small logo that can be covered. 🙁

i find its bs there making everyone spend money to get a completely new wardrobe just to work. whats wrong with black pants or shorts, they look way more professional then khaki or jeans. not everyone can afford to buy clothes that you really only wear to work. whoever decided to change the dresscode can go off niagra falls for all i care its stupid.

Technically I don’t think the dress code ever changed. I think leaders overlooked dress code violations. It is my understanding that the dress code never specifically said we could wear black pants. I could be wrong. I don’t know if anyone who doesn’t own Al least one pair of jeans. With the coupon given I was able to get a pair of jeans for $10.50. My store gave everyone a shirt. No one should have to spend a ton of money on a new wardrobe. A lot of team members at my store who wear items not allowed, wear expensive name brand stiff so they can afford new clothes.

In my store black pants were never allowed. I only ever and still wear khaki. Black pants would become an issue when we got a new sd. I would pick a shirt off the rack and sometimes she said yes or no. It is going to come down to your sd.

My SD is telling everyone that if they wear a red vest, all buttons have to be up, it cannot be opened and showing the shirt underneath.

I don’t own jeans as I don’t like wearing them and don’t own any khaki and having a hard time finding a way to afford any. I gave the 50% off coupon away already too

Can't believe I'm reading this infantile bullshit re. what to wear. We were khaki and red. Everyone complied. No bitching. It worked. It's easy. It's affordable. It looked good.

Plenty of jobs, not just in retail, have dress codes. I once worked at a minimum-wage job that required me to buy a logoed shirt, with the cost of it being deducted from my first pay check. You can bet I bought only one and washed it a lot.

I've worked in other jobs where the implied dress code (because it wasn't explicitly spelled out, other than words like "appropriate" and "professional") cost more than Target's. Not all of them paid more than Target either.

And this is why I love buying clothes at thrift stores. Very often, the tags are still attached.
