hi friends, I just need to rant about this one guy bc gosh dang was I terrified. I'm alright and no one was hurt, but frick man them gosh dang spooks.

just saying there's a lot of adult language and violence mentioned, so please don't read if that's not something you can stomach.

I was zoning and a guest past by just mumbling to himself. I didn't pay much attention to it since I've gotten my fair share of "guests." at best i thought he was listening to music and just quietly singing along.

but as I kept going, he just... kept walking by? but every time he got louder and much more clear as to what he was saying.

I myself swear quite a bit, but this guy was shouting every single curse and profanity you could think of. just ANGRY, frustrated yelling. every racial slur, every derogatory term, every word your mom would slapped you for.

at this point, I called tps and asked them to come asap, but homfg another guest heard him saying he was going to "mass murder everyone" and make them "suck his Chinese c*ck."

tps had found the guy and questioned him before I could really explain what happened, but apparently, the guy acted innocent, saying that he was only looking for a mop and broom. (just a note, the tps guy is like 6'5 and a bit scary if you don't know him, so maybe that's why this creep was too scared to own up to his actions but who knows)

I didn't see the guy after that, so I assumed he was walked out of the store or arrested or something. later I asked the LOD, who happened to be the ETL-AP, and while the guy was leaving, a black woman walked in and he just kept repeating the n word over and over and over.

like I said to begin with, no one got hurt but with my anxiety, I'm just so terrified. why was he essentially circling my department? why did he think it was okay to just walk into a public place screaming disgusting hateful things?? why did he make it an effort to say racial slurs not directly to but about the people he was around ? (the Chinese genitalia comment near me and the other guest, both of us being Asian, the n word at the black lady). I'm just so confused and weirded out and scared?



tl;dr a strange guest was yelling profanities, scaring me, thus had tps called on him. no one was hurt.

That happened to me once, and being the only TL in the store at the time, made it even more fun. I asked him if he was alright and if there was anything I could help him with, he said he was fine and just talking to himself, so I told him to talk to himself more quietly so we can maintain a family atmosphere. He said don't worry about it because he was leaving. On the way out he asked 2 TMs working on an endcap who I was, why I was following him and that he was going to kick my ass (in retrospect, I probably should have called the police). When he got near the exit he started yelling things like fuck this place, everyone needs to leave this shithole, then turned around and flipped me the double-bird on the way out. One of the cashiers laughed and said I don't know how you guys do it while a guest was waving goodbye to the douchebag.

Seen similar stuff plenty of times; usually crazies, drunks, or high as a kite. A disruptive guest will be escorted out possibly being given a No Trespass order.

If you spot a guest going crazy like that...you fall back and walkie it in to leadership, and keep an eye on the person from afar.

If it happens to you again (at my GS, we see it more than I'd like to)....just call the LOD and tell them what's going on. Keep your distance while still keeping an eye on them.

I walked past a guy mumbling to himself yesterday morning right after we opened...and when I say "mumbling" he was like, speaking in tongues or something...had to do a double take. Couldn't tell if he was on drugs or not but goddamn he smelled bad, like fermented cat piss. But the funniest part of the whole thing was his ballcap branded INFOWARS DOT COM

I had to visit the DT Seattle store at 10:30 PM to replace a fried phone charger cable (thanks Sheraton). I almost got run over by the police (not AP) running up the escaltor. I was in my "bubble." I did not expect that.

Ah yes, the store with a frickin needle drop in the bathroom for the heroin addicts. It has two etl aps, 4 APS and 6 TPS. Sounds like a madhouse to me

It pretty much was that way. The restroom is locked. I think that once I really had to go, and regretted it. I did use my TM discount to buy alcohol there though (when we got a discount).

I have been in Targets in no less than 15 states (I used to travel a lot). They are all so different. Kalispell MN - they were really nice. Moline IL - a few flies are OK in the pastry case. Barf.

I disagree. If he was high and/or mentally ill then he wouldn't have lied and said he didn't say all that and offer an excuse for why he was walking around that particular area over and over. That shows rational thought and a realization that what he was saying and doing were wrong.

Sounds like a fun place to work!
But on a serious note, I've actually put in a request to have a sharps container installed in all of our restrooms. It's a shitty situation, but there's no way I'm going to stop all the heroin addicts from shooting up in our bathrooms, so I at least want to not find a dirty needle on the ground in the restroom every other day!

Yeah, I could probably retire to a mansion in Hawaii and sail there on my own super-yacht if I were compensated for every drunk or high "guest" I've had to deal with.
