I have what I hope is a simple question. I tried searching for it but nothing similar came up.

I was "lucky" and got scheduled Cash Office from 8PM THURSDAY to 4:45AM FRIDAY

Does that mean from 8-12 I will be getting time and half and then from 12 - 445 I'll be getting overnight pay?

How does that work?

Also, what the hell am I gonna be doing in the cash office? Am I gonna be processessing Wednesday's money and prepping the "11am advance" (which will prolly be given at midnight).

Thanks

They're taking hours from Thursday am co, to pay you to work Thursday night.

Ugh, I haven't been GSA in over a year, there's NO way I'll be able to mentally handle GSA, maybe cashiering...

Blaaaah, whatever... Work is work and I'll be okay.

What about the pay. How does the pay work? Do I get time and half the whole shift or just part? What time does overnight start.

I haven't worked past 11am other than a few shifts in over a year, I don't remember this

You should be getting time & a half for the hrs on Thurs. Past midnight, it depends on your store & state laws governing that. I've heard that they're paying shift diff until 6am but again, ask your ETL.
After you handle the initial advance & a few hrs into BF, you'll probably do a skim. It used to be that Thanksgiving was a "skipped" date but I've no idea whether they'll do Thurs night on its own date or carry it over to Friday's sales date.
Friday AM you'll be processing Wed's sales date as it is.

yeah, our CO works 7-10 usually and i scheduled someone in there from 7-2 on saturday. If she gets done early she can help out somewhere in the store but i wanted to give her enough time to not stress about it.

I remember it as the SINGLE largest count of the year & the ONLY time we used those huge deposit bags. lol

Last year I was only trained in the cash office for 3 weeks before B.F. so they knew I couldn't do it. Anyways, I went in on saturday, saw the deposit bag and it was $143,032.50. I peed a little.
We are a Tier.....4...... store I think?

the one thing i miss the most since i became a TL is not doing cash office. It is by far my favorite thing to do in the store. If it wasn't my closing weekend I probably would have scheduled myself in CO on saturday.

I love the cash office. It's my absolute favorite place to be in the store.
Except overnigt and when I have no idea what to expect haha

We're a tier 4 store, and we have a GSA doing 1-6am GSA, 6-9am CO, 9-11am GSA on BF.

I have a feeling you won't be spending the entire time in 239, most likely helping out on the lanes with change requests, price checks, etc.

I'm sure the GSTL will have things under control!

Our STL told us at huddle tonight that thanksgiving is time and a half, plus an extra dollar an hour plus possibly another 50 cents...he wasn't sure about that last one. And I haven't a clue on the timing of it all. It nearly made me feel better about having to be there a half hour before the store opens.

Nice as a GSTL I don't have to be there until 8:45p with the rest of the team. But we get time and a half on Thursday and shift diff until 8am friday

All front end people (not sure about sales floor) have to be there a half hour before we open. Probably to make sure they have everyone in place? I don't even know how this all works. I'm sure they'll want a huddle. Can't have a shift without a huddle, now can we?

yeah you must not be in the CO that whole shift... dunno what the heck i'd do in CO for 8 hours, barely takes me 3 (we're alloted for 4 per day), as it is.

2 openers - GSTL and GSA. 830pm-6am
1 early-morning GSA 1am-11am
1 mid-morning/daytime GSA 530am-4pm
1 daytime GSTL 7am-6pm
1 closing GSA 2pm-midnight

That's our tentative schedule, with the early morning GSA taking time for 239.

Luckily, I seem to have managed a day off on Saturday. *shrug*

Ten and eleven hour shifts are going to make for some very tired (and possibly cranky) people towards the end of those.

We have 2 GSTLs from 8:45-9:15a
GSA from 1a-1:30p
2 GSA from 11a-7:30p
One GSA 4:30p-11:30p
GSTL 7p-11:30p

We were given absolutely 0 input on scheduling. My ETL did the entire thing. She doesn't speak to us, engage us, and she wouldn't look at us if she didn't have to acknowledge our presence when she's LOD.

for our gstl's/gsa's we have:

2 @ 7pm-6am
1 @ 4am-2pm
1 @ 7am-5pm
1 @ 2pm-close
1 @ 5pm-close

and an old co-specialist during CO so we don't "Waste" a gsa in there.
Saturday we have 2 openers a mid and a closer. I love having so many gsa's!
