I’ve recently worked for target, however left due to school ( did two weeks, worked past them, even).
Since then, I’ve tried to go back, however I can never get past the interview process.
My availability is wide open, and I know that they need team members in the specific department
any advice?

You will need to call and talk to someone at the store, probably your TL or ETL from before if they are still there.

If you only worked a month or two then quit, they may have an unfavorable impression of that.

I ended on good terms, and I moved to another state.
someone in my family works at target and recommended I could apply, then the next day go in and ask to speak to the lead of the department and basically say,”i applied, i keep getting declined but i really wanna work for your team”
I’m unsure if that would be best? Worse case is they shoot me down I presume?

That would be good. If someone from your old store can send an email vouching for you, that would also be good.

Update: I called and talked to them- they said there’s been miscommunication and then said because they aren’t hiring people because target doesn’t have the money to hire more people?

I think they just mean the store you're currently trying to get into isn't currently hiring.
