Example of Data Mining... Just wondering what everyone's take/opinion on this subject is. Personally I'm fine with it, its just targeting your audience and by doing so it is driving sales.

It's the same reason that the return policy is different for different guests. Target tracks your shopping habits. That's why you get coupons puked out at the register for things that you buy or things that Target thinks you would be interested in buying. Exchange and return options are different for frequent guests or for guests that use their red card or for guests that pay cash, but never return anything. Targeted (no pun intended) marketing. You would be naive to think that everything you do isn't tracked. It's not just Target....

And Target saw those porn site cookies and the wife ended up finding coupons for lingerie, and movies like "Californication," "Striptease," "Showgirls," "Indecent Proposal," "Unfaithful" & "Fatal Attraction" in the mail.

Actually it does vary sometimes. I've seen quite a few incidences where the receipt is at least a month or more past the 90 days and the system will still allow us to do the return just by scanning the receipt. That's why they say to ALWAYS attempt the return, because you never know
