So basically everyone at work has found our APs instagram...which contains photos of condoms with the caption "not thin enough" and pictures of him in his boxers briefs..and other inappropriate photos.

What would happen if our STL found out? Im curious..

I would figure nothing, since it's not work related. Unless he took a picture of the condoms while he was at work etc. I don't think spot can fire you outside of work unless you get caught talking down about the company, fighting another employee etc.

Bunch of nosey creeps around your parts. I bet you guys spend all day on FB typing in employee names to find them.

Lol pretty much. I don't know how they found it, someone just showed me earlier this week

But I kinda figured nothing would happen since its his life. But I thought I saw a few pictures taken inside the AP office. Not sure if that matters

Lol. I was trying out facebook's new graph search and one of the examples was "people who work at ___" so I looked up people at work. I didn't really stalk or go in-depth, but I thought it was funny to see the mirror selfies of the people who are above me. Also interesting to see them not in red and khaki.

I think it's supposed to be against the privacy rules to tell anyone at work about it. For that reason, I don't think anything would happen to the guy unless he was in Target or something.

Targets general policy with social media is to ignore it unless you’re wearing red and khaki with a name badge.

Years ago there was an incident where a tm was disciplined for something on their social media profile. It got a lot of backlash against it and target changed the policy afterwards.

LOL if it doesn’t have anything to do with Target, the guy is free to do whatever he wants outside of work, don’t you have anything better to do and worry about than looking at your LP’s hot disturbing pic? Unless you guys enjoy seeing it lol just sayin’

He reminds me of someone I know from my store, who also is AP. Who is a womanizing, insecure, asshole, so yeah.

Little presumptuous to assume all that over this AP who posts risque pictures online. He could be gay, he could very secure in himself for posting them, and you have no reason to assume he's an asshole.

Now that social media is discussed during orientation and in different Learnings (I still believe Trainings sounds better..) it’s not a bad conversation to continue. I think social media is a lot more prevalent today than it was 6 years ago and the odds of finding someone on it is easier than ever. Where do we draw the line between a TM’s free speech and protecting the company?

Just throwing it out there for the sake of conversation, please don’t @ me! 🙄

Target don't want you working off the clock so then why would social media off the clock affect the company?

Target don't want you working off the clock so then why would social media off the clock affect the company?
For an example if you take a picture of something at work (Target) and post it on social media that is not available to the public yet including vendors you will get into trouble even off the clock, we all have training about this topic and we all signed it.

I've heard that a lot of companies are having issues with off the clock social media. Some states have had to pass laws that keep employers from demanding social media logins so they can monitor if what an employee does on their downtime are activities unfit for the image the company wants to portray. One teacher lost her job because she posted a picture of herself at a party dressed as a pirate holding a drink. Employers crawl through known social media to look for posts made during sick days, looking for reason to discipline for lying about calling out. Some people have been denied jobs because of pictures a few years old, not days old, and that includes young 20 somethings that were understandably stupid minors when the pictures were made.

It's all about protecting the image of the company from anything that any employee does at any point of the day, whether on or off clock. An underwear pic off the clock doesn't seem like a big deal, until you get some ultra conservative running across the photo and screaming to like minded news media about how [insert name here] Company employs people posting obscene smut that is borderline pornographic where children can see it. That is a PR nightmare, double nightmare if other news agencies run with the conservative media's story, and companies will want to get rid of the employee in order to say "We did not know and we do not tolerate pornography or indecent liberties of minors" even though it was nothing of that, just an everything covered photo meant to stay between friends.

However, it's wrong to say that people must not have a legal social life when the company isn't paying them to behave a certain way. They want to do that, they need to pay 24/7. And there's not a single person in this world that doesn't have plenty of moments in their life where they were immoral, downright illegal, or just plain crazy as shit in their conduct and they are just lucky no one had a camera.

Same reason that if I come in off the clock and punch my leader, I’m getting fired.
Well that’s kind of different because it’s 1) assault and 2) at your actual workplace with someone you work with

But I think if you post some racist shit on Facebook or whatever it should affect your job just not like underwear pics lol
