Service & Engagement Post voiding and keeping

It would certainly be easy enough to set up alerts if a TM number is applied to a transaction and if that transaction ID is tied (either at time or purchase or for any returns or post-voids or whatever) to the same TM number logged into the register.

If Target doesn't have at that basic level of check going on, they're fucking stupid and, as Formina said, Target's AP is not fucking stupid.

If she didn't use her TM number, then there is the name on the card, but that isn't as easy of a check, but not terribly difficult, either.

Your TM friend, however, was fucking stupid. If she did keep it under $500 that likely means she won't be charged with felony theft, but I hope she kept the stuff from that transaction and the other one you mentioned, as if she can give them back she will likely avoid charges.

Yeah if she used her discount there is a 100% chance AP knows. Even if not, I’m sure they have a name match on post voids. And even if she used cash or a card with a diff name, they check post voids anyways.

I just put this image in another thread but it applies here too.

target ap when they saw her post voiding her own purchase: 256BAD24-8E0D-4367-8EF1-91F8431E95E6.jpeg

AP knows everything... I open most days and one night I bought a few items online for an OPU. Except I bought them just after 9 and we stop picking at 9.

Well the next morning I picked my own OPU (over $100) and an hour later as I was dropping off another flex my ETL and the AP ETL are up at OPU and they’re looking at my bag and verifying what I picked matches what’s in the bag.

And to be clear I’ve never stolen or done anything for them to do that other than just because. Hell I know internal theft cuts hours so I’ve ratted out two TMs and a TL for internal theft and got them fired.

Tell your “friend” to start looking for another job. Good luck getting one with internal theft on your resume.

They were looking because you are not allowed to pick your own order .

Soooo there are some developments. But not really.

Yesterday, someone else was escorted out of the store for stealing. He's a REAL idiot. He would scan in a ten dollar gift card for a promo (like buying fifty dollars worth of toilet paper) and then pocket the gift card and hand out a blank one. He also stole an iPhone that was on hold for OPU. I consider this to be really stupid. At least my friend was somewhat smart about it.

Anyway, still waiting for that shoe to drop. Gulp.

BTW all the people suggesting I tell on her- I would never do that in my life. I ain't no rat.

They literally use that as an example in orientation of what not to do... using a GC you issued is an instant red flag for AP, not to mention guests start complaining they have no money on their cards and oh look they were all issued by one person

Let’s hope you don’t have mouths to feed to worth losing your job. It’s not about being a rat . However if you do have mouths to feed would be nice to teach them some morals .

That might be a rule at your store but we don’t have any rules against it. I often put in orders on my breaks or in the morning right before I open. Our AP is okay with it. I suspect they were looking because it was a high dollar item.

I would like to know how you know why this person was escorted out of the building? Details are not usually shared with other team members. You are just as guilty as your friend. You know what your friend did and you refuse to say anything. You are worse than a rat.

I'm in agreement with Frontlanegirl on this, I don't understand why you won't go to AP or someone in leadership and tell them what happened? You're really risking your employment with Target for this friend when both of you know what she did was wrong?

Quick aside about "ratting" tm out. I know you are not allowed to load a target gift card with a non red card (cash or redcard ok) and then purchase items with the gift card with employee discount. When someone tries to do that will me I always refuse to do the purchase although I will load the gift card and suspect they will be heading to sco with the purchase. I do let them know it is against the rules and they could get in trouble but I don't tell on them. Do I need to worry about doing more?

No. The handbook simply states we can not knowingly ring people up who are breaking policy. If you don’t know or aren’t ringing them up, you are not required to do anything. AP will get them.

The person was never caught. She wound up quitting shortly after my last post, so I guess I'll never know. She works for Shipt now, and comes in the store all the time, and no one seems to care, so I'm thinking they never suspected.

She didn't. I was privy to the fact that this person was going to quit a couple of weeks before she did. I've seen people fired for stealing. They don't get notice like that.

Every store is different. You need to report your concerns to your Mgt. you are here because we are not your store & we are the Internet.
I think spot notice it & said something to them.

TRUST ME- if they knew she stole it, they never mentioned it to her. I have knowledge of this. It doesn't mean they weren't aware of it. We'll never know because she quit shortly after she did it.
