Archived Redcard 5% Discount on Prepaid Cards?

Saw a fellow team member save 5% on Disnet gift cards by using their Redcard. I thought 3rd party gift cards were not eligible for the Redcard discount but sure enough I saw their receipt and they are. Are all gift cards eligible or was this just a freak thing? I might consider applying for a card if I can get the discount at other merchants.

Only the pre-set, gift cards get the 5%. So like, iTunes, restraunt cards, stuff like that. Once upon a time, our employee discount worked on them too.

5% works on all gift cards except Target, Visa, MasterCard, and Amex. All others are fair game.

Yup i buy disney gift cards all the time and when I'm back up cashiering i try to get red cards by telling people about the disney angle lol

In fact i just cashed in 97 bucks on ibotta so im off to go get 2 FREE disney gift cards using the money from ibotta and my red card 5% discount
