Rfid counting items.

How does it work? Like I know how rfid works in theory... but how does it work? No one knows at my store other then hit items with your rfid gun and give it a jiggle or go be very slow in your hand waves.

Radio Frequency IDentification.
-inside each tagged item is a little WIRE that transmits the items DPCI/UPC/description to the SLED that collects and reports the information transmitted.

of course only accurate for correctly labeled items:
If a tag is OFF - the item is not counted.
If a tag is without the merch it will still record that we have the item even though we ONLY have the tag.

You don't have to hit the item with the gun or "jiggle it" the beam supposedly shoots out with enough power for items 15ft away to be counted (through boxes and walls too). Metal will interfere with it though. Wave it at a comfortable pace, scan it over each shelf in like an S2 pattern. Just make sure you check in all the stockrooms and dont scan OPU or SFS hold areas
