Has anyone here ever stepped down from their TL positions just to be asked to interview for a TL position months/years later?
 
There have been TL's who have stepped down (at my store), then have been promoted back to TL again after a long while. I think it would definitely depend on the reason for stepping down however.
 
Yeah. I was a TL back in 2009. Left that store a few months later, stepped down back into my first store as an entertainment specialist. Three years later promoted to TL again. Got paygrade 13 a year later. About 18 months after becoming a TL again I became a SrTL. Soon will be going to ETL interviews as I just finished my degree.

Life has changed a lot for me this year. All my plans have changed too.
 
I can't see someone stepping down unless they had something going on outside of Target that affected when they could /couldnt work. Going back to just a TM after being a TL seems like asking to be thrown to the sharks.
 
I stepped down for school...one of the few reasons I've seen get approved. And that's if you were/are well liked. Otherwise you have to quit and reapply.

And everyone would still treat you like a TL

We have a number of team members at my store who have stepped down to regular team members from team leader positions. They say they will never again become a team lead after what they had to go through before.
 
Same thing happened at my store. 2 tl's stepped down & kept their pay. But, no one has asked them to be a tl, again.
 
I stepped down....so did my pay. I have been approached about stepping up again, but the reasons for stepping down still exist.
 
When I stepped down from TL to TM and transferred due to grad school, I got to keep my pay and was treated like a TL in my new store. Once grad school was completed, I transferred back to my original store and less than a year after I had transferred back, I was promoted to TL again and received a $3.50 raise going from TM to TL again....this was phenomenal pay since I never lost my original TL pay when I first stepped down.
