Don't take this the wrong way, but I don't need vibe cards or recognition. I have never once used a vibe card to buy anything in our store, I just throw them away rarely reading them. I think I've written maybe 3 vibe cards since the vibe started because I just don't have the time. I'd rather spend that time helping where I can.
I help just about every single work center every day when I'm caught up with carts. If Guest Service is backed up with damages (especially on freshness Friday), I'll mow through processing damages for the GS TM while they handle returns. If the food ave, guest service, the lanes are backed up, I'm there. If there is a spill, I'm there. If reshop is overflowing and my carts are full. I knock out a cart or two of reshop if I'm not needed at the lanes or elsewhere to cover a break. If the girls at Starbucks needs help lifting heavy boxes on to storage shelves, I lend a hand. If a call button goes off, I'm there to at least clear it.
I guess I can understand the vibe means something to some people, but a simple thank you with a friendly smile from my fellow team members is all I need. I do it because it's my job, I like the people I work with, I know we're all spread thin, and I just don't like standing around. I chit chat with all TM's all the while doing something somewhere. Makes the day go faster too if you stay busy. Anyway, I just think the vibe and recognition are overrated. A simple thank you from the team member is sufficient without having to have it announced for the entire team at my store during a huddle or having it posted on the vibe card wall that nobody at my store ever reads anyway.
