I noticed on workday I now have a target email address. Any reason I have one?I’m never had one before and I’m not a lead although I recently applied for a lead position.

You don't have to be a lead to have working email. Certain TMs (usually experience TMs who can lead) get it if an ETL feels it's warranted to communicate workload or important information when ETL is not present. I see occasionally GSAs, Beauty TMs, presentation would have one.. at least at my store. But like Kvothe said, some email that are given don't actually work unless the people at mysupport approves it.

If the email has your TM# then it’s not a real email address. Leadership may have plans to put you in a non-lead position that would require an email such as Reverse Logistics, possibly presentation, and SEA (Service Engagement Attendant, same as SETL but not a lead).
Or it’s a glitch. Since you applied to be a lead, the system automatically generated an email even though the lead promotion hasn’t finalized.

You actually log into the email with your tm no#

The workbench/sharepoint login? I thought it was a filler to get you logged in. Even then, the chrome login page automatically logs you into workbench/sharepoint.

It's not my team member number. It's my first and last name @target.com. I'll try seeing if I have access when I work next.

My still shows my first/ last name @ target email on workday, but I have no access to it anymore (sad face)

I had access to email as Closing Expert back when I was in that role.

Service Engagement Attendant? Is that a new thing?

Presentation TMS don't have e-mail (although I know of several former Signing Specialists who kept their accounts). At least, I don't, and I've been on Presentation since before my great-grandma was born. But it would be great if we did. It would also be great if we had some level of access to fixture ordering--even if we could just enter in a request that would then be reviewed by someone with actual power to submit the order.

My presentation tm has one . Is how I sent them emails with workload when I’m not there .

I can access mine and trust me I am a nobody. lol I used to be the Perrishable assistant before they took the position away, maybe that is why.

If you were once in a role that assigned you an email such as a TL or PG 35 TM like a receiver/HR TM, you keep it when you transfer job roles. Once it’s assigned to you, it stays. Now for some reason Tech TMs get emails, not sure the reason for that. The CSC can assign you an email but it’s difficult to get approved.

SharePoint and Office 365 both require active directory to manage accounts.

Everyone who can log into SharePoint has an email address, it's just turned off for most. These are called NMEA (non mail enabled accounts) - this is a very common implementation across the industry.

If someone needs email, they simply turn it on.

I remember it was planned to be a thing with modernization, it was in materials (maybe early ones, I'm pretty sure they were shared on here?) explaining all the job titles. I never understood why Target decided to nix it (I mean I understand why, I just can't believe they thought it was a good idea) and given how many stores just kept having GSAs without the official position, it'd be interesting to see if they actually brought it back.

I made a sign for my self , drew it up on my phone. Sent it to myself and just enlarged it on the computer
