What I miss:

*Specialist position

*Pie competition - Being Green for a month straight in ALL areas, and we can throw 3 pies (for each ETL) in the faces of 3 ETLs of our choice.

*Overnight Flow - Extra $1.50 P/H was great!

*Getting hours - Had 35-40 hours in Electronics, after 4+ years I got worn out, went to new department and now I get 14-30 a week.

*Having insurance - See Above.

I miss our team being a family. Literally when I first started everyone was always willing to help everyone. Everything was smooth. With out new STL we got in Oct. 2012, I have never seen so many people high-tail it out of that place. It's gotten better... somewhat, but not like it was.

The fun
Knowing when I come in there is a plan in place for the day and I know I can complete it.
Etls that had a clue
People who I would gladly go out to dinner with.
A decent raise

- an STL that knew every job in the store and would work with you side by side no matter the job (have worked with 2 STL's like this).

- when family came first over anything else
- my specialist position
- overtime
- the $1.00 for working overnight
- the ice cream, grilled cheese and quesadillas from Food Ave.
- far more relaxed atmosphere

Yeah, I agree with the above comments.

I remember when I started my 'career' 15 years ago as a team lead it was a lot of fun. Now it is just a 'job' and I can't wait to punch out and get the hell out of there.

Our old STL and the morale he brought to the store. He cared about us, was on the floor working with you most his shift, didn't care if you had overtime, always made sure the break room was stocked with good food, recognized and appreciated us.... yea I miss all that. When he left so did all of that.

*My specialist position (what was the point of them taking that away?)
*My raise that I didn't get this year
*How my store was up til about 2011. We had so much fun! Now. Pure boredom.
*Bagel and cream cheese at Food Ave (It will always be Food Ave to me!) The hash browns and other breakfast items. The peanut butter rice crispie w/chocolate on top.
*ETLs that didn't just get out of diapers
*Respect for my work/life balance.
*AC at the lanes!
*my dental insurance!

A fully stocked store. Tired of telling guests, sorry we are out of stock. Sorry we don't carry that anymore. Sorry we don't have the size you want. Our shelves are have filled. How are you suppose to make money if you don't have anything in stock? Sorry, we don't have boots or gloves or hats in winter. Sorry we don't have the uniform size you want. What the heck! Working at Target is getting to be real embarrassing.

Agree...over in Market they routinely cut sale items from our truck and we are out of stock. Just this last week they cut blueberries when we were selling through them pretty good.

What about not having any outdoor seasonal stuff in July because Target thinks back to school needs to be set up at the very begining of July. SCHOOL JUST GOT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those Maui onion potato chips.... Seriously, why did they get rid of them????

I haven't been there long, but our dynamics went haywire when an ETL left for a real world job.

Oh, and I really miss the cup of water I could keep at the lanes. I wish those telling us, "not without a doctors note", had to stand there and do what we do, for the length of time we do. I'd like to end my break NOT pounding water to hydrate either. Hell, I used to BUY my water daily when I got there too. Buy. With a lid.

*Specialist and adequate TL positions (gave you at least some potential to advance)

*Only using the add'l asst button a couple of times throughout the day (and that was for TRUE 1+1 backups). Nowadays, it's more like 1+3 before we call. I work at an A-volume Super (24 lanes) and only had TWO cashiers scheduled at 2:00 the other day. Seriously...Two?!?

*Bob Ulrich

From store-side:
Not having quantities attached, making backstocking so much quicker
Doing the Black Friday backroom open (which I loved, but since opening kept getting pushed back, our O/N team now does it)
OT being a thing that existed.
Not having worry about my hours disappearing.
Having ALL the season patio furniture displayed. Since they've scaled back the number of seasonal patio furniture we both sell and displayed, I feel our sales dropped big time.
I hear that RF apps is either gone or about to be phased out, so I can't imagine much coming from that.
Having Recv/RL process most of the CRC/Salvage/Red LP's. No offense to Guest Services, but there were a TON of incorrect LP's, missing CRC, greens that should of been red, destroys which should of been donate, etc.
ESIM not being a major pain in the ass to process.

From DC side:
Not having temps in Depal. Can't describe how bad the productivity is down there because of the temps. We try to encourage them to be more part of the team, but because of legal things between Spot and the temp agency, they can't fully participate in everything that TM's do. The fact that they're doing the same work as us for half the pay doesn't help their work ethic either.

  • Great team hero
  • Actually being fast, fun, and friendly
  • No quantities when backstocking
  • Actually being different from Walmart

MP sodas and MP potato chips and snacks. Target Brand items were much better than Up&Up.
