Sounds like the new “standard work process “ they are rolling out in the dc. Refresher on the target way to do your job so there is one standard across the board from one store to the next and one dc to the next

Selling to men is different, but neither harder nor easier. Just different. Men care about functionality of clothing, so you have to be aware of things like cargo pockets and how much they can hold, shape of the pants, quality of cloth for both bottoms and tops, what button down shirts are better with blazers and suit jackets, stuff like that. A fair number of men don't know their undershirt size, they are thrilled if you can pull out a tape measure to size them. Men hate trying stuff on, so if you can size them, even just enough to narrow down how many things they need to try on, they are thrilled beyond belief. The size conversion (chest or waist size to S/M/L/XL) is very helpful when dealing with a man. I personally find that when I upsell, socks and underwear are the easiest to upsell with men, though jeans specials are a close second.

A guy who has tried on what he normally wouldn't would probably do very well in selling to other men. If you are a jeans and t-shirt kind of guy, trying something nicer will be a benefit when someone is shopping for an event or looking for a Christmas present for a relative. If you normally are well put together, knowing how things look and feel while trying jeans and a t-shirt will do well for suggesting everyday apparel to many men.
