I was looking at mytime to request some time off and it says I have like 1.47 hours or something like that for Vacation.

Is this like PTO or something? I'm part time and have been here for 9 months. I'm just a cashier/cart attendant too ha..

Vacation & pto are the same, unless your state has sick leave.

Nope, I feel like 1.47 hours is way too short to redeem because it hardly even scratches the surface of a shift. I'm new to this whole PTO thing, I'm gonna research i tmore

If you average 20 or more hours per week, you start accruing vacation after 6 months at a rate of 0.01923 vacation hours per hour worked. You probably only hit the 20 average hours and started accruing very recently.

I agree, but you would be surprised how many people I work with that will just burn that hour.

I'll probably wait to see if I accrue any more before I do anything. It's around 200 hours I have to work before I can even cover a 4 hour shift so this'll be a while but I suppose if I work 40 hours a week it's only 5 weeks to get that sweet 4 hours of paid vacation...

worth it? I guess it depends on the situation.

Every bit of vacation helps, a lot of people use at my store to pad their hours when they call out. Since you are limited to staying under your average hours it helps to build it but not bank so much when you quit you lose it. You don't get a payout anymore when you leave.
