Why do people think older people are rude at Target

As a person who worked at Target since 2014, it’s not the older people that are rude most of the time, it’s the college kids (my store is right next to a university).

My store has banned anyone under the age of 18 from coming in which made the store much better but I do get rude college kids, they are not usually doing the stuff that teenagers did, most of the bad college kids I get shoplift or are verbally rude. I had to kick out a college kid today for stealing.

I get rude older adults, but only on occasion. In my store, adults over the age of 25 seem to be the most polite in most ways.

ASANTS. My store is really close to a university and the college-aged people who shop are generally quite pleasant. Of course during BTC there will be the occasional student trying to hide everything in a plastic bin but that stops about as quick as one can say "don't do that."

I don’t have much issues with college aged people or even older high schoolers. Most are quite pleasant.

As for teens, the under 16s run amok but the over 16s don’t seem too bad. I only occasionally get a bad older high schooler or a college kid. I have a high school and college right next to my store. I wish my store banned kids under 16 without an adult.

A lot of people issues with teens at Target (including me), but I only see it in middle schoolers and young high schoolers in my location.

The older teens and young adults (16-24) usually are pretty pleasant at my store but I occasionally get an older teen who acts like the younger ones or a shoplifting college kid.

I think requiring kids under 16 to be accompanied by an adult at Target is a good rule as it would remove the majority of disruptive behavior at my store.

I actually think about one third of them are mean, 70% of them are pleasant but about 30% are the shoplifting and rude ones. Like If I get 15 college kids in the store in a day, I get about 1-2 of them who are acting out.

I don’t get rude college kids every day, but I do get them somewhat regularly.

I have no problems with most adult customers in general. The 18+ policy really improved by store.

Itchy hungry little kids in the cart seats, all the time. The moms and dads are patient with them. Perfectly normal. Local store mgr and AP don't tolerate any bullshit. We do see the police at the employee double doors occasionally. Probably shoplifters.

Rudeness is when Karen throws the Wegmans cashier her reusable shopping bags as he/she is ringing up her order. I was behind one of those bitches and told her in the arrogant old man tone to not throw the bags, bag your shit yourself. Reaction was priceless from both the cashier and the Karen.
