will i get in big trouble for calling out on black friday?

For context, I work as much as possible and I’m very liked at the store I work in. I also worked with my boss to get the shift taken (it’s still posted) and we got it to a later shift than an early one. My problem is this:

I’m in a place 2.5 hours from where I work for the holidays. The snow could be bad over here too, along with some nasty wind and ice. I’m worried that the weather conditions might prevent me from being able to get back for work safely. I’m hesitant to call off though because I’ve called off 3 times in the past 3 months and I don’t want to make it a habit, especially with holidays.

Never Ever let an issue like this get in the way of safety. If the roads are bad and you are nervous and uncomfortable driving 2 1/2 hrs by all means call the store, speak with HR or your ETL or STL and explain your concern.

Black Friday is the equivalent to “The Super Bowl” for Target 🎯 stores. 🏬 You were essentially hired for this particular day essentially. All the “Being mad cool with my boss” and coworkers is essentially 💩 if you’re not there. Good luck. I hope 🤞🏾 things work out in your favor. I’ve just seen people get terminated for far less….

I’ve been with them for around 6 months and i’m not a seasonal hire. i’m hoping bc if this i’ll be ok?
