Does anyone know the ratio of working to managing your team is for a team lead and where to find this information. I am backroom/instocks tl and find it harder to do as much work than when I was just a backroom tl.

I'm willing to bet you won't find an actual number.
While I'm a fan of a TL getting in shoulder to shoulder with their people the fact is you guys are loaded with a ridiculous amount paperwork, walks, interviews, etc.
Do your best to be there for your people and let them know what you're up to when you can't be there for them.
That's pretty much what management is all about.

It honestly depends on your work center. If you're the flow TL then you better not jump into an aisle and start cutting boxes because as soon as you do 4 TMs several aisles down and going to start slacking as opposed to a hardlines TL who has to do all the work because there is no team to lead. You could try to do a 70/30 split like the developmental activities suggest (70/20/10). Whatever you do though please do not walk around doing nothing while other teams do the actual work in your work center.
