How common is it for a given store to give out no O's? I found out today by a reliable source that my store gave out no overall score O's this year. What is really sad is that one of the only people who got an overall O last year got fired recently. I can't say why, might be too revealing.

Wow.
I've heard some stores will do ANYTHING to cut payroll but this sucks on an unimaginable magnitude....
Some may ask "What does that say about your team?" while others would ask "What does that say about your LEADERSHIP?"

I don't know how much stock I would take with that person's statement. I honestly can't see where not one TM or TL got an overall "O." How bad was the store's AE scores? Personally, I don't think it's anyone's business who got what score nor is it anyone's place to try and find out anyone's score. If no TMs got an overall "O" how is that person sure that none of the TLs didn't get one? In my opinion (others may disagree, but again, this is MY opinion) it's no one's business as to how many of each rating scores were given. Just don't believe everything you hear because this person could also be trying to stir the pot with Best Team Survey just round the corner.

I dont know how rare none are but I know from my Sr. TL that last year one TM and one TL got and O not sure about this years scores I have heard from several people they were told if they had done x they would have gotten an O but nobody I have heard from got one and someone who I consider one of our best TMs got an IE even though he is constantly checking in vendors and multiple other tasks that are above his core roles and nobody else aside from the TLs know how to do

Well, for everyone you give an EX who could possibly have been an O, that means you can bump someone else from an E to an EX...

Say you have a team of 40 people. 10 are getting an IE because they suck. Say your merit budget is such that for the other 30 people, you could afford to give 10 O, 10 EX, and 10 E. It would cost the same amount of money (not accounting for the fact that people are starting at different amounts, but whatever, you get the point) to instead give 30 EX and no E and no O. I think that would actually be better for morale overall, don't you? I'm basing this on the following theory: Considering how crappy the raise is for an E, the amount of "happy" that you create by bumping a person from an E to an EX is greater than the "happy" you create by bumping someone from an EX to an O. Thus, if facing the choice of TM1:O/TM2:E or TM1:EX/TM2:EX, you should always choose to give them both EXs if you're interested in doing the best thing for store morale.

It depends on stores sales, shortages, AAR, and myperformance scores. My store has approx 400 TMs, and every year we have 5/6 O's, and we are always +10/13% in sales and our metrics are improving every year. I can't imagine for store with 100 TMs have more than 2 O's.

90% of O's are people that got O every year, at my store. They are specialists in their work centers, who can be promoted next day if they wanted it. I can not imagine anybody else that deserve O. 10% are TMs/TLs who had been promoted at the end of year.

Don't be mad at your TL for not giving you O, or your ETL. O's are given by ETLs.

In talking to one of our GSTLs tonight, our store manager refuses to allow Os and will seriously look over any Es as well. She doubts anyone actually does that well. As I have said before, we are a "model" store, recieving a little more district attention than normal.
Personally, I think she's been passed up for a promotion and is shorting us in order to get one.

It's always fun to let them know what you think of that kind of BS on the store survey.
No Os for the TMs seems to call for a severe lack of Os for the STL.
That doesn't guarantee she wont get her promotion but it might slow her down.
