cracking down on sick time

Is this other DC's or just mine? I'm just getting scattered info but it seems theyre trying to "crack down" on sick time. Not sure the details, maybe emphasizing what are the valid reasons allowed for sick time.

i think some people were just dipping with an hr left in shift and not really telling anybody. typical this is why we cant have nice things moment.

another thing is the "requirement" (?) to tell the OM. I dont think this is legal. If youre sick youre sick, and sometimes the OM isn't findable, so what now? I get that its supposedly so they know you're missing if a fire drill, but I dont see why just telling a lead wouldn't work, if the OM isn't immediately available. I think this is just an attempt to bully ppl from using it.

But the defcon 5 is one aggressive, bully type lead apparently told people target can request a doctors sick note for sick time (not necessarily will, but can). anybody heard that?

the overall vibe is that sick time is evidently they think becoming an issue, costing plans or whatever. i dont buy it, plan better then. my main thing is sick time hrs are really so few, 36 hrs a YEAR but really not even that because you do not accrue sick time on vacation, loa, call offs, or anything else. so honestly for me who has the seniority to get a lot of vac, it's probably more like 2.5 days per YEAR at best. that's nothing. yeah i get it probably sucks for them but its so few hours imo they can bite the bullet on that one, it's self limiting. now if they started giving everybody 3 weeks sick or something i would get it.
