So we're experiencing a severe FEDEX backup at our store. We've been stockpiling since Wednesday (Thanksgiving Eve). Coming close to something like 40-50 pallets that need picked up. Constant communication and we've been told that FEDEX won't send a trailer for them. They came today with a box truck and picked up maybe 5 pallets worth, but have no intention of returning for more.

Any other stores experiencing the same issue?

We recently added FEDEX as a shipper, this year. UPS was our primary, but has moved to secondary and only gets maybe 3-4 pallets of orders a day.

We are a normal fulfillment store, nothing special.

Your district will have to work with fedex to get a drop trailer. My store will be swapping our ups trailer for a fedex one. Word is that we're mostly dropping ups for fedex because ups costs more. Any ups we get will be picked up like fedex used to, with a live load.

Same here. You definitely need to get your OD in the loop. We’ve been having to stage fedex in our ups trailer just to buy some space.
Second this. Get your OD involved and they will talk to the FEDEX higher ups to either get a drop trailer or have a bunch of box trucks come and pickup everything. It took us about a week and a half to get our 20 pallets we had picked up but they ended up taking everything today. We were never able to get a drop trailer even though we were supposed to

We began receiving FedEx pickups about 3 months ago and it takes awhile for them to get with the program. We had a weekend drop trailer for awhile, but honestly the way my store runs, it was more trouble than it was worth. Our team could never actually access the trailer until about 5:00pm Sunday evenings, because our row and the dock was always packed tight with freight and salvage (no receiver on Sundays). So we were drowning in skids of FedEx boxes the majority of the weekend, even with a drop trailer. Now that FedEx does Sunday pickups for us, the pressure is off a bit to get the trailer loaded on time.

We got a drop trailer for FedEx and ups and it has been awesome. Our dm had to make a lot of calls but they got it done. We would have been screwed otherwise.
