Hello there.
I just started at my local Target the 2nd week of August. I've been cross-training mostly for Starbucks, as well as register.
I must say, so far, this has been the most stress-free first month of work I've ever had in a retail job. I'm sure crappy days will happen, I've done enough customer service work to know how it can go. But it just seems amazing to me that (at least at my store), the company actually seems to trust the employees. I don't have to call a manager every 5 seconds because I'm not allowed to do something on the register, or I have to have someone else's code/approval. If I do need to call someone for help, they actually show up. It's extremely liberating, compared to register positions I've had at other places.
The Starbucks side of things is proving to be more difficult for me, but I haven't really had experience with many similar positions before.
Overall, I'm liking things so far.
