I thought I already got the job!

I went for my interview and she asked the days I wanted to work and the weekend I prefer. She also congratulated me. I was told that I would receive an email and to disregard it, someone will call for an orientation date. I got the email saying that the hiring team has not selected me. Is this the email she told me to disregard? I still didn't get a call. I called HR 2x, still waiting for a call back. I was so excited to get this job, should I just give up?🙁

There is NO communication at Target. He said she said, somebody said. It's rediculous. I would keep calling till you got a hold of someone.
