Does any other store find it impossible to get all the scans done in the instocks task list every day. We get about 600 a day and dont even come close. How do other stores do it? Do they just tap them out of the task list without actually taking the time to scan the aisles?

If you are an over night flow store, it is easier because they are done when we come in. That being said, their are times when all o/n push b/s isn't done and we just do the Rigs in that area and "aisle done" the rest. Your success is based on flows' success and the number of people on your team. Today was a rescan day for us and we had 5 people. We finished the entire store at 10:30.

At my store it is not unusual to do RIGs only, and press "aisle done" for the other tasks. Ridiculous, I know!

We r a 4am store and have 2 to 3 people scan a day starting no earlier than 8 am. We get about 150 to 200 tasks done on a good day by 11am. Its impossible to get them all done without a dozen people scanning. Most stores must just press aisle done witbout scanning. We dont do that at our store.

Since pressing aisle done does not benefit the store in anyway it is not a practice we encourage. The point of doing instocks is to pull from the back and fill the floor and simply pressing aisle done is wasting time. Rigs are completed first and core departments(consistently high sales) are the focus. Other departments are picked up throughout the week on non-truck days.

not necessarily pulling from the back though because apparently, scanning with backroom locations puts you in red :C and spot hates red.

Yep, but Instocks shouldn't be leaving known outs on the floor. Green is the goal, but if you are following BP and scanning and it's pulling >10% then you need to assess the cause. Is the team scanning non-critical lows? Is the flow team making sure they've filled all locs before sending product to backstock? Is the backroom resetting the accumulator on re-pushed challenge?

Neither do we. I've been told that no store does that - that EVERYONE is able to finish and so should we.

We have 2 people plus the TL who will jump in whenever he can (not always possible for all the reasons we well know).
They often get stuck pushing when they come in at 8:00 and can't start till the store opens.
They will usually finish 3 to 4 days out of the week.

Yeah. . . . . .and Suzy and Sammy Scanner are going to get right on that. Of course we know this is what should be happening, but it has little to do with the number of scans that must be completed in a timely manner. Please explain your point.

I was pointing out to Flaker that instocks shouldn't be sacrificing their job just to make sure a score is green. The instocks TL needs to assess the cause and partner to fix the root cause. Let Suzy and Sammy scanner focus on scanning as much as they can instead of trying to decide if they've pulled more than 10% from the back today.

All very good points. Instocks is impacted by everyone in the store. As per best practice, an area cannot be researched unless it is fully pushed and backstocked and also zoned to planogram. (That only happens the day an aisle is reset by plano.) You just do the best you can, trying not to skip an area too often and dillegently working the drastic count report. I find alot of the items on there are due to zoning issues.
