I first heard of Juneteenth from the tv show Blackish - and as was pointed out on the show, it's pretty sad that this is not learned about in schools and given more reverence. Hopefully that is now changing.

I'd rather call in tomorrow, work Friday and use 4 hours of vacation time to make myself whole. So that's what I'm going to do.

Well, for me it's both, as my day job declared Juneteenth a company holiday, as well, and I have a shift on Friday. 😂

There are no etl or tl poc at my store....but yes...let them get the benefits of celebrating the end of slavery...including not having to actually work that day.
