Yes, we will. The most you can hope for is that they will generously lubricate the shaft before you bend over.As a 10+ year veteran I feel like i'll be getting the shaft two years in a row.
Nearly everyone at my store is getting a $1 raise, including anyone who has worked for 7, maybe close to 8 years. Those of us who are under 6 years got nearly $2 over the last 2 years. Sure, some people are frustrated. But they just got 2 raises that are each about 3 times as much as a normal raise, maybe more. It'd be nice if Target did this differently and gave veterans a little more, but at the end of the day we all have more money in our pockets.
For those of you who are at the maximum for your paygrade, you get a huge benefit of not needing an EX or O on your review to get a raise. For those of you in the 8-12 year range... my condolences. You actually did get screwed on this one. I know it's naive, but my hope is that we'll get better candidates with a higher starting rate. I said that last year and it didn't happen (seemed to get worse...), so idk.
(Note: this mostly applies to stores like mine who were well below $9 before last year.)
Unless you hit the max for your paygrade, in which case you need to get an EX or an O to get any raise at all. Also, you could say that for TMs who just started today; you don't need to work hard every day. You won't make much more by busting your ass. But I find that working hard makes my job more enjoyable because I can look at how much better I made everything. That and I get recognition from my peers, my leaders, my team, and even my guests.the longer you work for Target the more you get screwed over on pay raises. passed a certain point it does not pay to put in any effort to try and do a good job. it is only worth it if you do not do your best but just enough.
Well, they won't be making more. Just one review's amount less. With no rancor- I show up, I bust my ass, I come in early, I stay late. I go the extra mile and Spot will pay the newbies I train more. What's wrong w this picture?
(What's wrong is me staying if I don't get adequate compensation and believe me I won't stay. The ball is in Spot's court this year).
I know there's not much that can be done, but I was at least hoping for maybe some extra vacation time or something to fill that void.
best I'll get is one (1) free hot dog from food avenue, if that.
1. Nope. Only people who are below $10 will get anything.I heard my store is doing the raise to $10 bucks an hour from $9.50 for starting as well.
What is not known is the following factors:
1: Will any veterans get the pay bump of $.50 if they are over the $10 starting pay
2: If this starting pay bump will take effect before the reviews
3: If this starting pay bump will take effect after the reviews
Target SHOULD bump everyone's pay whos' pay iso ver $10 an hour. If they dont, all the hard work everyone put in to get raises over the years was for nothing. There is literally no reason (other than to not get fired) to work hard since our raises wont mean shit when new people will get paid the same amount as us.
If you're in a higher paygrade, you should be bumped up to $10 plus the paygrade difference, then your merit raise on top of that. If that doesn't happen, someone in the hierarchy needs to go bye-bye.
