As part of the Good & Gather launch, Target will also be phasing out two food brands, Archer Farms and Simply Balanced. It will also scale down the number of items it sells under Market Pantry

I now expect the thread to be filled with whining over the Simply Balanced discount that nobody used.

Well ideally this brand will continue the discount on. I don’t think anyone will miss simply balanced but archer farms did have some good stuff, and I like market pantry. Hopefully they’ll launch another brand to replace archer farms— not necessarily healthy or organic food, but just better than market pantry

My guess (hope) is they’re just reducing overlap.
I’m curious though because the discount was advertised as a healthy option discount like C9 is work out clothes but getting rid of AF &SB and some market pantry I’m sure all of good and gather won’t be “healthy” options so they might use it as a ploy to get rid of the discount. Honestly with C9 going away in the next year or so I could see them removing the whole extra 10% discount in general. They really need to “modernize” the discount and be more like other retailers. We should get:

30% off target brands
20% essentials and such
10% of low mark up items like TVs and things

The discount really needs to be tiered based off what the mark up is .

I like your idea.

Also I have never been tied to national brands. I usually buy store brands because they are cheaper.

If Target wants to compete in grocery though, they are going to have to do more than just introduce a new brand. Grocery is the armpit of my store....just a hot, hot mess.

I think that gets too confusing though. Tbh I really would be happy with 20-30% target, 10% everything else. For me it’s always 5% more since I always use Redcard.

There is a communication on Work each about the wellness discount with SB being discountinued. The organic parts of GG are going to be on it going forward.

At my store most of it will be out of date!
I expect a lot more of this with the transition. It said some old brands will have the same DPCI with new packaging and to sell through your old stuff first but that requires the team to set it, purge the backroom then push the new product to see what is the same DPCI and what is new. It also said for fulfillment to give the guest the older packaging and only replace if they complain 😂

Unless this is tracked somehow, they'll get whatever packaging is fastest to get. I'm not spending one extra second trying to get an older package if its exactly the same thing.

No I think it was more just giving a heads up the online picture will be good and gather but you might be giving them archer farms

I’m only on page 65 of the addendum and I feel like I’ve been reading about this Market transition for three days. This whole addendum is huge and I’m expecting turnover with the workload everywhere..
It’s so long..... I had to set aside an hour just to read it through. My SD is planning on a 2 hour meeting this week to dig into it

Between Halloween setting for GM and the Anniversary Line for Style and the Guest Advicate training and the Market Transition PLUS everything else going on I’m starting to wonder if we have enough staff to complete everything.. We have quite a few TMs who will be back to school by the time all of this starts so it was going to be tight to begin with. Good thing we’re having another hiring event?
