Hey guys, I've been a hardlines team lead for about 9 months now and there's a senior team lead position opening up around January. It seems that I'm the top pick at the moment but I really want to nail the interviews. Are the questions similar to those that I was asked when I interviewed for team leader? Any general concepts I should start thinking about?

I have gone through the senior team lead questions a year ago. Make sure that your answers have more scope and details, as well as ensuring that your answers involving partnerships. In addition they will want you to name the top team leader, and why as well as the bottom team leader and why.

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't that question supposed to gauge how you can read strengths and weaknesses as a SrTL when you do an LOD shift?

I just did my 4th round interviews for Senior Team Leader this morning (soon to be a Senior GSTL). The interview guides they use are identical to the TL interview guides, they just look for globality and scope more than anything. If you pass the first three (in my district, at least) you basically have it in the bag. The last interview is a DTL interview in which he mostly determines if your ETL's and STL made the right decision passing you off to get signed off for Senior Team Leader.

Not to be a smuck but what the frell is globality?
I looked it up and got "a hypothetical condition in which the process of globalization is complete or nearly so, barriers have fallen, and "a new global reality" is emerging".
Which doesn't help me at all.
When I did the interview they said my answers didn't have globality but they real didn't have a decent answer when I asked what that meant.
It seemed like the answer the judge gave when it came down to the question of what pornography was 'he just knew it when he saw it'.

I'm thinking globality (globility?) is the same concept as large scope - having a holistic view and knowledge of all processes and interactions in the store in terms of an LOD shift.

As a team leader, you must focus on YOUR area, and branch out from there. As a Senior, you need to be the one that is driving results EVERYWHERE, even in areas that you don't directly have a hand in. I'm a Sr TL for GSTL and I am driving process and scores in our backroom and our logistics process. Its about having a broad scope of influence in the store to help drive not only your team but your peers to achieve the best results possible.

Yes, they want you to be able to see positives and negatives of your peers, that way when you are walking the store on a closing shift or when you have a visit with the DTL you can talk about wins and opportunities, to be able to see what the higher ups see.

Thanks for the info.
I think I did touch on most of those topics in the context of the jobs I was doing but since it didn't apply directly to Spot maybe that wasn't good enough.
I guess my other mistake was talking about the opportunities the Target had for hiring people with disabilities and how they had and were making such great contributions to the store and corporate culture. (one of the ETL's seems to get very uncomfortable around those of us with disabilities).
