My old ETL-HR was here as a permanent resident. (not a US citizen)

She insisted on "correcting" the reviews we wrote for TMs.... apparently she honestly thought we didn't know how to write proper english, and she did.... even though english was clearly not her first language.

TMs started to feel that every TL in the store was a complete moron and wrote at a 5th grade level.

I am not even kidding... she would take reviews and change a sentence such as "You always do a great job getting the zone done." to "Good job you, get zone done".

It was literally that bad....

As someone with an English BA with teaching certification, that made me cringe

I got a 3.5% increase for an E. Not bad, considering I just got the extra 25 cents for the promotion. Every two years I seem to get a promotion and then my raise shortly after that. No complains! Haha.

I believe the numbers are 1.5, 3.5, 4.5, and 6.5. I haven't seen an IE to know for sure, but I've seen/received/delivered E/EX/O reviews so far this year, so I'm sure about those.

i got my review and it was a slap in the face. none of the people who wrote it are with the company anymore. the people who administered it didn't even think it was accurate. i refused to sign it and my tl is trying to see if it can be reevaluated. we will see.

EX 3rd yrs in a row. 0.44 cents. Plus o/n shift differential. Almost makes it tolerable.

It's funny when I'll be coming up on 3yrs with the company back room and I almost make more than some dayside team leads

There is no absolute % for each rating. There is a range, which you are probably close to. This year I have to give three IE reviews, each of them with different merit increases (all first year).

The overall raise numbers are affected by the Achieving Excellence scores that the store gets. Each store ends up with a total amount of $$ that can be spread out among all of the employees. This is my understanding of it, at least.

Interesting that the EX raise is 4.5% this year... I remember that for the last two years an excellent was 4% .. Looks like Target decided to bump up the raises? That's kind of them.. Maybe they're rewarding the team??

Got my review, got an E again. Should have been an EX. When I heard the BS about why I got such an adequate grade, I couldn't help but feel like Bill in the following clip

I've never seen evidence that they aren't set percentages. There are only two reasons why a person would get a different amount: a pro-rated review for someone who's been around for less than or slightly more than a year (you mentioned the reviews you gave were all first-timers, so they were probably pro-rated for the number of months they worked--I've given a 7-month review and a 15-month review so far this year, for example); or a pay-capped team member (who gets a smaller percentage for an EX/O and nothing at all for an IE/E).

review

Have not gotten my review yet but as a former "specialist" I know I will never get a raise again for many years if at all.
Also, isn't it curious how some years you get a good review and other years a bad review, depending on what boss you had that year?

I was a "shoe specialist" when I first started at my store....now they don't have any "specialists" but they have "brand" TMs. At my store the "brand" TMs are assigned to specific areas. One "brand" TM is in shoes. She gets to spend more time in shoes than I did when I was a "specialist." Then they wonder why the shoe department can look so good w/out a specialist. Well....Duh...if a "brand" TM is in the dept for three or fours "A DAY" of course the area is going to look better.....as a "specialist" I was lucky if I spent even an uninterrupted few hours there a week
. The "brand" TM gets paid less than a specialist, but because they are allowed to be in their area the area can look nice.

We had a girl who was "brand" TM in make-up and jewelry. However, they'd schedule her as sales floor most days....then they wondered why she couldn't keep her areas "brand".

I'm on pins and needles until I get mine next week. New stl is definitely one that would be happy to break my O record......

I got an E which was a slap in the face because I had just gotten promoted to my new store in October as an APL and was told it was because my metrics were bad, there was no one AP wise in my store for three months before I took the spot. Now my metrics are all green stupid review.

Was that a 3.5% raise for you? I'm curious if TL's get the same percentage raises for their overall scores (ex; EX=4.5%, E=3.5% ,ect) that regular TM's get. I would imagine the % would be higher for you guys since your scores are more difficult to obtain.

I know that TL E was 3.5% at my store.

Same here. I am capped out. Only received half the raise that I should have gotten.

Also capped. Gonna be fun sitting thru this yr's review without kvetching.

Percentages should be the same, it will just be a larger actual amount due to the typically higher pay a TL has. Say 3.5% of $10.00 is $0.35, 3.5% of $16.00 is $0.56, that sort of thing.
