MEGATHREAD Target myDevices

As we learn more about how myStats is being used in the stores, who is using it, and what the future workload strategy is for stores, we will assess iayroll needs to be allocated for this work. Since this tool can be used by all TMs, it might be hard to give payroll to 1 TM to complete the work. But we'll keep this in mind as we go.

I have been thinking about the signing/labeling batch options and don't have it in scope right now. I'll add it into the backlog though since I agree, this feature would be helpful.

While on the topic of batching Labels, "Batch Display Labels" would be helpful too.. This would help with logging which displays have been researched, which have arrived, where they are, when they were scanned for research, etc... rather than typing in each individual dpci, or shooting research at said location at the time, and then 3 weeks later, and then forever, until all displays arrived (Instead you could just create a batch of all displays, and grey dot the missing, then scan just the label until said display arrives)

As a Former Perishables Assistant, an "order" option (If logged in as Signing Specialist) would be SOOOOOOOOO useful on a MyDevice if a fixture/Signing implement was order-able on sap, which creates a "Shopping Cart" that can be reviewed/ordered at the end of a shift. I know this is a pipedream, but it would still be a dream :p. And I know Target is all about integration and eliminating those extra steps(or wasted payroll).

So will PDA's still be able to print backroom locations?

Yes, that's a separate function from the Label Printing app, which is used for shelf labels on the sales floor. Backroom location labels should still be accessible through RF Apps as long as you have a portable printer.

We haven't had SDA on our PDAs for a while...

I just opened a week or two ago and was still able to use the SDA app on the PDA. Good thing because there were a lot of yogurt tasks.

We have a backroom team member using a mydevice to keep on top of flex alerts ourselves. Not that it is always helpful.

The MyDevice alerts are often very delayed. The PDA alerts come through about 5 min after the order drops; I generally don't have any issues unless Redwire is being a shit and won't let me log in, in which case I compulsively check MyFA every few minutes.

There is a lot of things getting deleted next month. All POG functions are getting deleted. Sign is getting re-deleted. And TKT is getting deleted among other RF & PF order & SDA,
This is crap.

Receiver can't print signs from his pda again! Which means double the work for the rest of the team.

No pog or label which means no reason for pog to pull their own crap. No pog but batches or no batches but pog. Spot needs to send out a memo about those responsibilities...

Well that'll be a blast when flexing PLU in seasonal. The myDevice won't let you print shelf labels for items on clearance, last time I checked.

You can print individual clearance PLU labels from myDevice. This was added some time ago.

An enhancement is coming with the July release that you can key in backroom locations while in SDA to clear your tasks in myWork.

Why is your receiver printing signs? Sounds like they're going above and beyond.
Payroll is allocated for the backroom to pull plano POGs and backstock them. This is best practice. If your store allocates payroll differently and takes hours from the BR for the plano team to pull, then that's something that needs to discuss wtih your payroll captain if this process won't work anymore based on these apps being turned off on the PDA.

A few receiving RF apps are being combined into the RECEIVE web app as well with the July PDA update. I'll edit tomorrow to tell which ones, I don't remember at the moment.

Receiver prints signs because the vendors chime at the worst time and insist you print them signs RIGHT NOW before they leave...which isn't happening while the market tm is pushing perishables. Besides they let the receiver have his own pda he locks up, he needs to justify not sharing since he only really uses it a couple his a day if you add up the time...

It looks everything related to checking in vendors is being combined into it. There's a very helpful document with pictures and everything on workbench or redwire that explains how to use it.

So on the phone for 53 minutes with CSC in completely erasing an iPod and setting it up again after all Target's apps wouldn't open. This is ridiculous that that amount of time should go in at store level to get these things working again...

In the past few days I've got 2 my devices with youtube left open. One was a video for a song with an explicit title. Is the a way to know who is watching videos at work?

We had four that were bricked cause the update crashed MyWork. Our GSA wanted to punch a baby while on the phone CSC for them. So you are not alone. That update isn't great if it crashing MyWork.. I think she got two of them working when I left 7hrs later..

We don't have enough of these things to actually give the teams that have to have them a charged scanning device and now added people need them.. Great..

The equipment report. Look at that before signing in yourself, or if myWork is still open, look to see if it's still signed in with someone. Touch the user icon and scroll down to see if it has someone's name. Most people still don't sign out after they are done. Go figure.... If it has someone's name, tell your ETL-GE. I wouldn't go accuse anyone right off the bat.

No, it's getting deleted from the PDAs. You'll only have the option of using a MyDevice.

There will be much rejoicing from my backroom team (but lots of groaning from the sales floor team) when the pricing and POG functions are removed. If they delete the SDA from the PDAs, then the P-Fresh opener will have to start doing the backroom portion (currently the backroom opener does it).

Which is horseshit.

If the PDAs are for the backroom team don't take away backroom functions like bcode, SDA, and qmos, especially if the coolers are renowned dead zones for my devices, and ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU DONT HAVE ENOUGH.

I guess if backroom can't do the SDA anymore it just won't get done. I'm not about to spend half an hour because some numbskull at corporate thinks the PDAs need to be phased out

I'm over the myDevice not working in the fairy cooler and the daily bitching that occurs. Yes it sucks, but it can be done for the five locations a day easily. Just get creative. I suggested they print a master location list, then bring out suspect crap by hand. You can usually tell what is gonna pull after doing the sf sda.

Walmart here now has the Motorola...which bodes well for us.

I stood in the dairy cooler for ten minutes waiting for it to load one item I scanned.

The "daily bitching" is justified thank you very much

Here we go again. MyDevice finally charged but NOW the scanner works but when I scan an item it just doesn't do anything on the MyDevice.

As time went on these things got worse.

Edit: After I restarted it the scanner stopped working completely.

Our daily bitching consists of just that. Maybe an attempt at mysupport.

Our list is incredibly small compared to the amount of inventory that sells daily. The day I helped it was five locations, four of them wacos. Took me five minutes to pull the waco out into the backroom, scan item, put Waco back and repeat.

The regular employees plus ctl just skip dairy and don't complete the list. But bitch incessantly.

Thank you. I'm not going to accuse anyone. I just showed it to the ETL. Both times they said that others had been finding the same thing. I said I just wanted to let someone know and I wondered if we are supposed to have access to youtube. He said we were not but there was no way to tell who was using the my device to watch youtube.
