Hey! I've been at Target about two years now. I work hardlines, but I've pretty much trained myself how to do backroom dayside, and guest services.

I'm moving cross country next month, and I was curious as to what transferring stores is like. I've already talked to ETL-HR about it, but I want to know how it's actually worked out for people who might have actually done it.

Welcome!
From another thread:
I'd partner with your HR and see about a transfer once you know the area you'll be in. It will take some time to get the transfer to go through. And while the store you're at can't keep you from leaving, keep in mind that the store you want to transfer to may not have any openings or hours for an extra tm. I hope it works out for you!

Greetings and salutations.

Welcome to the Break Room.

My wife and I just recently moved, not as far as you but still 6 hours, she had to talk to HR's at about 4 stores in this area to find one that had a position for her. Or you can always go the route of just applying for anything open, if you're ok with changing work centers. Lucky for us my area has 4 Targets that aren't to bad of a drive and about 4 more that would have been do-able just a longer drive..

Welcome!

I transferred to the store I am at about a year and a half ago. All I had to do was ask my ETL-HR and she sent an email to the stores ETL-HR and if they have a spot and like your 'credentials' they should take you. I was surprised at how easy it was. Although, I transferred because I am going to college and this store has basically all college kids and takes a bunch of transfers every year so it could be different for you. Good luck!
