I've been with Target a long long while now and was wondering if anyone knows what the policy is on wage reclaiming now days. If I had to quit for a few months does Target still give you back your wage within a 1 year period?

I think it's up to the store's discretion on that one. When they hire you the system generates whatever wage was put in at the time the job was posted, like it always knows that cashiers start at 7.50 where I'm at. But they can change it when putting in your orientation paperwork. Corp may question it but I'm sure the HR can explain it and push it through. Also, if they give you the conditional offer paperwork when they give you the drug test paperwork, I'd make sure it says the wage you want otherwise you don't have a leg to stand on.
<<HR tm for 6 years.

Only for medical or educational reasons

We LOA for other personal reasons too, like visiting families in their home country. But I believe this was a store choice, not company policy. Medical and educational are company policy.

We told our TMs who wanted to quit that they would lose their paygrade if they came back. Some wanted to quit and go to another store because their transfer was denied. When they were told by HR that their pay would go from $15 to $10 they didn't like it. They were denied because of either attendance or performance issues.

However, I have heard of some TMs coming back to their old paygrade but that was years ago. Could be a case-by-case basis.

Hey Targetron! Unfortunately if you quit, your pay nowadays has the potential to start over at Min. wage.... However they still do experience pay, so you might get something for that. But as far as receiving your exact pay, you probably won't. As a lot of peeps have mentioned already, LOA are your best friends. I know that doesn't help your situation now as you stated you already had to quit for a few months, but its great info for the future. Hope this helps.

It came down from our group that experience pay is a no-no and stores should not be hiring people at a higher rate than base pay for any prior experience. I don't know if this includes Spot or not, though.

Well if that is all over it would explain why we can't get anyone to work for us.. They won't put up money to get anyone beyond kids fresh out of school who don't know nothing from nothing..

I saw it in an email they left laying in the tsc a couple of months back addressed to all stores in the group.

Personal LOAs are only 120 days. Educational leaves are 365 days. After that you'll start getting paperwork letting you know you need to return or lose your position.
