At least some of the keys have security devices on them so you don't accidentally take those home. But I've made it home with an Electronics magkey before. It would be nice to have it beep when you go out the door, even if it's just one of us being absent-minded.

My stores alarms go off obnoxiously loud when u have keys and walk thru them. I hate having to go to the offices or the guest bathrooms with keys cuz it's so loud it's unbelievable. But ill never forget I have them.

how about when TMS LEAVE FUCKING BOX CUTTERS WHERE GUESTS CAN GET THEM?

I have a new TM at my store who lost THREE box cutters in one shift. The LOD seemed pretty lax about it but I was internally screaming.

On the topic of myDevices, I found two hidden in BTS the other day. *eye rolling intensifies*

New equipment policy will resolve this. Lose it or dont sign it out = final warning.

They should probably put alarms in the MyDevices. I had one in my pocket instead of a holster and was going home. Pumping gas at the station, I put my hand in my pocket and realized I had one so I drove back (luckily I was only a mile away) and slipped it back in the charger.

But nothing would have prevented a guest from taking one for the registry and going home with it to wipe clean.

If one is taken, Apple can access the device via the serial number and totally disable it.

Only if enforced. Which it's not. When they enforce it, ETLs have to waste time they don't have to constantly open the cabinet and then they complain that people are running overtime waiting for someone to open the cabinet to sign in/out equipment. And after about two weeks the cabinet is left open.

So, your fear is a guest will see one and decide to start cutting people?

Trust me... someone who wants to do something like that will undoubtly have their own blade.

No the fear is that a kid will get it and accidentally slice themself.

One time I saw a toddler in a stroller swinging one in the air. I don't know who I wanted to hurt more: the TM who left it out or the unobservant mother.

Team members at my store have a tendency to leave box cutters everywhere. I've told TL's and the store's ETL many times, but no one has a talk with the team. It won't be until someone gets hurt and they have a lawsuit on their hands that they address the issue.

They can tell who's signed into devices, so every so often, an etl goes through the list of iPods that are signed out vs the ones that are gone and not signed out vs TMs signed in... And she'll call you out over walkie. It's kinda funny. I stopped even trying to get an iPod now. I only try if I'm covering phones or if I have a bunch of online/as is stickers to print. Otherwise, I stick to price checkers, reading barcodes, and asking if a tm with an iPod can come to wherever I am if I need more info than the price checker can give.

But when it was easier to get my hands on one, I usually just bury it in my cart. I forgot it on a table once, but I'm usually responsible with equipment.

We actually got a speech about just the holsters today.

"They cost $30 apiece!"

We struggled all day today with the issue of not having enough Mydevices to go around, despite having very few team members...yet the speech we got was over the fucking HOLSTERS and not the Mydevices themselves.

Who cares about holsters, when we can't even find MyDevices to put them in?!
I wish our store had that talk; somehow we are down to like 5 holsters we had over 30...I don't even understand where they lost them, if you can return a mydevice how do you not also return the holster? Store lost 1 mydevice so far out of 30-ish but our BRTL freaked the f out over someone losing a PDA awhile back which really cripples us.

A PDA is about $950, and the iPods are near $500.
