I had 38 this week, I'm scheduled for 31 next, and I just saw on the new schedule that I'm scheduled for 29. Nothing too crazy as I usually get around 28-32 during school.

I absolutely loathe when certain sales floor TMs (mostly seasonal) come and dump all their crap at guest services without even telling us what it is or leaving any kind of note.

I'll be opening curbside from 5:45pm-12am on thanksgiving and then opening curbside on Friday morning from 8am-4:30pm.

I was recently bumped up 25¢ with no explanation. I figured it was better to keep shut in case it was a mistake lol.

Had a lady that stuck a $5 clearance tag on a baby monitor that was over $200. At first she asked if we were supposed to honor it like our policy states (HAHA). Luckily she had no confidence in what she was doing and backed off as soon as I called the GSTL over.

I wish I was able to have a hardlines shift every once in a while. Too bad my store doesn't let cashiers cross train into anything but GS. :(

Hell no I wasn't. My first couple shifts were pretty brutal because I had no idea how to navigate the POS. I voided two large transactions trying to void a line, double scanned items a couple times, threw away promo gift cards, it was a complete mess. In an hour of shadowing a cashier you see so...

I always hear about this book cashiers are given when they are first hired but I never saw it, much less read it. On my first day I did a few quizzes on workbench on how to bag and on alcohol sales. From there I shadowed a cashier for about an hour, then I was on my own.

Holy shit. How do you have 5 GSAs and multiple GSTLs? My store currently has one GSA, 2 GSTLs, and a recent external hire who is going to become a 3rd GSTL. Does that mean you guys have an opener, mid and closer every single day?

I don't mean counting change in general but say someone pays with a hundred I don't count it back aloud since they just shove it in their pocket.

I've been a cashier for 6 months and I still don't know how to count back change very well...if at all. I never saw the need as most people don't really care and they just take the change and immediately put it in their pocket/purse/wallet.
