So I have a question. Is it appropriate to give a small discount to someone on an item that is not on sale when I have told the guest we have an item, but we actually do not. Does this qualify as a be bold moment? Nothing crazy as far as price adjustment goes.
 
If it's under $20 off isn't that VIBE, which allows the TM to do it without manager approval?
 
It'd basically be the same thing as giving them an Apology Coupon, so you should be fine. Taking a minor markdown on a comparable item is better than losing the entire sale completely (within reason).
