First let me start this by saying I'm not sure how things work in other stores. I have heard a whole bunch of different things.

What I am hearing is that in the coming months my store is getting the new Electronics layout. At that time, I have heard that essentially Electronics is done, at least in the capacity of selling most items. Market Source (assuming it's the same provider nationwide) who does the cellphones will be taking over Electronics.

As of now, in my store Market Source team members do not get Electronics keys. I'm told it's not the same in all stores, that in many Market Source team members are given full reign in Electronics. I do know that in recent months Market Source seems to be getting a bigger role, now selling TVs and cameras and such.

I was also told (and don't believe) by somebody that my store is the only store in the country that still has the Electronics Specialist position. Again, I find that very hard to believe.

I have also been told by bother Market Source and my ETL-HR that you have to wait six months before you can go to work for Market Source. Does anyone know if any of this is true? Are they going to wave the six month requirement if Market Source does take over Electronics?

I heard this too, it's a way of Target saving money by contracting out to a differnt company.
I'm not sure about the six months rule but if you leave Target you will be working for a totally differnt company which I think is commission only.

MarketSource is a totally different company. But they are paid hourly plus commissions. Depends on the store and market your in, but I know some in busy stores make pretty good money. In our area they make more hourly starting than target tms start at, plus commissions.

At my store they get a 1099. instead of a W-2. No hourly pay just get paid on what they sell. I guess every store isn't the same.

I can guarantee this isn't true. MarketSource pays all of us an hourly wage, and then we are paid out commission the third week of every month for the month prior.
The commission is good, but in most cases, not enough to sustain anyone.

I'm only quoteing what the Target mobile girl told me. Maybe she isn't market source.
