Since I came back from college, one of my colleagues got fired and since then, I've had my first 30+ hours since returning. But recently my latest schedule revealed to be only 20+ hours 5 days a week but only 4-5 hours per day, which is really discouraging because i've noticed a lot of terrible things from cutting back.
when i work late evenings, i always hear the "additional cashiers to the front lanes", and when i look, its terrifying to see only 3-4 cashiers running a long line of people when its still 7-8pm and 3 hours to closing.
and the swap shift board ive seen has been filling up fast, and more people are taking the longer 8 hour shifts than usual. so unless u can do cashier/ales floor but are able to do other stuff like market/bakery, then u might be better off. so cashier + a few other jobs will get u the hours, but it sucks they cut back on ur main job.
