Job postings for Sr. HRTL started showing up on target.com this weekend, and it provides more insight into what the position will look like. Interestingly, there is a note near the end that says LOD shifts will be required.

Yeah before they use to just say HRTL but you are right now they say SRTLHr to distinguish from the regular HR TL position.

There would be HRTMs still, right? I would think this company would make up for the loss of ETLs.

I sure hope so . As an HRTM I get 40 hours year around ( about 30-35 HR and I pick up some extra hours from SL and Front End). I was told by the STL that I would be getting 40 hours/week with the HR ETL being gone and even when we get a SR HRTL.
Maybe I should polish up my resume just in case. I can't pay my bills working 16-25 hours at the Front End/SL and I can not afford to lose my Health insurance.

well now we find out why ???

Workday lands retailer Target as HR customer | ZDNet

bye bye HR TMs !!

Hmm, its a bit vague as to what this includes. I feel like the trend I am seeing from the current leadership team is an improvement to our current processes so that reducing the workforce is feasible (versus in the past it was just do the same thing but with way less payroll). I think this sounds like a major improvement to HR resources (JAS, MyTime etc) that could make it easier for HRs to manage from a remote location (hence the return of HRBPs per district with only HRTLs in each store).

I've always felt that Target wasted a lot of money and resources on developing, deploying, and maintaining custom-built applications like myTime and TCM that could easily be done with more mainstream industry solutions.

Isn't myTime just a customized version of Kronos? Doesn't seem like something they built from scratch.

TCM is by far one of the worst applications Target has!!!

I think Target "buys" some of the software and the cheapest price possible and then acts like its some new awesome thing. The thing is that, for example, MyTime controls a very important part of the business. How we spend our payroll and in which ways is one of the most important cost decisions for our stores, and its an outdated software we bought and acted like it was great! Only now, years later, is it getting the tweaks necessary to run the business at least somewhat efficiently. What has been the cost to the company due to bad scheduling for the years its been allocating payroll inefficiently and being ignored for our stores to make up their schedules from scratch every week?

Oh it definitely is. TCM is also not "built from scratch" per se. My wording definitely suggested that. However, we do spend a lot to have these programs customized and branded for us, and then we largely service them in house unless something major happens.

I'm old enough to remember the application AP used before we switched to TCM in 2009. It was a lot like a system I used at another retailer called LPMS. Despite LPMS being very old and not very attractive, it works pretty much 100% of the time as intended with lightning speed. That other retailer still uses it.

Are there a few features that LPMS lacks compared to TCM? Sure. But they aren't even close to being worth missing when you see the total bloated heap that TCM has become.

MAX was also a really weird system, but I don't feel like switching to myTime has ultimately provided us with any substantial benefits vs. MAX other than being able to see the schedule from home. Like @Rock Lobster said, the top down hours allocation process it was supposed to provide has been completely mismanaged.

Being an HR TM, I've been looking all over for details on what exactly the deal with Workday entails, but everything I've been finding is pretty vague. I have a feeling that is going to help streamline systems and free up hours so HR will be more involved in the end to end process my STL is treating like a holy writ. I'll be asking my ETL on Monday if they know anything.

Oh, and myTime is an antiquated piece of crap as far as accurate allocation, at least at my store.

I haven't been able to find any details either and my STL hasn't been in the greatest mood so I didn't feel like asking lol.

Some from what I have learned on all the different threads on these forums there is no more ETL-LOG, No more ETL-HR, and no more ETL-AP? No more Flow, No more Plano Team, no more Pricing Team.

So pretty much there are no specialist teams, but everyone is a specialist. I forsee a revolving door of training new TMs, they mine as well just create a new ETL role ETL-Training.

We have our new Sr.TL HR now and the ETL-HR last week is this week. She is going to a Super as a GE.
