Archived Sick time (California)

does anyone know if you still get paid out for unused sick time? Don't really wanna alert my etl-hr just yet that I might be leaving but I have a bunch of unused sick time.

I think California requires payout of all accrued vacation time.

The way it was explained to me is that any sick hours you had before the law changed in Ca would be placed in one "bank" and then as you accrue new sick hours they go into a new "bank". All hours in the 1st bank are still eligible for payout but not the newly accrued hours and when you call out the 1st bank is used first until depleted. Hope that makes sense.
