Well the way they are rammed down cashiers throats we definitely tell whoever is GSA or GSTL when we get one. No need to clutter up a PDA or iPod with another alert. So I did a mySupport for REDwire alerts on REDcards and why we weren't getting alerts when a cashier got one. So I got a call from them on Monday, and basically they said REDcards weren't important enough to get a pop-up notification/alert like we used to... um, ok, HQ, but you guys sure do love your conversion though right?! My ETL-GE was a little shocked by what they told me when I followed up with her.
Used this for the first time today to scan Instocks. It was a bit weird, but not too bad. I didn't set up the scan "teams" so I still need to see the initial page for that. 3 questions: 1) Is there a PTM task list available? It's still on the PDA. 2) How do I connect to a portable printer to make labels? 3) I did not see the term "replace label" but did see "discontinued , will no longer be shipped". Is that replacing "replace label"?
When? Labels were sent to the signing printer.Used this for the first time today to scan Instocks. It was a bit weird, but not too bad. I can answer #2.
To connect to a printer, simply scan it
Let me clarify our problem, we GET the alerts, I see them under the alerts tab, but they are no longer audible/pop-up notification. Sometimes we wouldn't even know anyone got one.We are still getting alerts for redcards on the my devices. The problem we've been running into is whether or not it decides to let us know all the time. The app itself just needs more work. Even better they plan to take the lpdas and some of the remaining pdas as part of bounce back.
There is no screen to split the teams, just a small pop up window that asks how many will be working on the list. It also doesn't tell you how many RIGS and RSCH you have, just a total amount of everything combined. And i don't think they even do the replace label anymore. Also no, there is no PTM task list at the moment, I think it may be coming in 2015, too.Used this for the first time today to scan Instocks. It was a bit weird, but not too bad. Have you tried making sure the device's volume is turned up and has vibration enabled? It might just be you keep getting one that has had the volume turned off. If it isn't even showing up in the notifications (that drags down from the top of the screen) then there's something wrong and it'd be best to use an LPDA and login to redwire on that. Most annoying part of that is the popup only stays on the screen for about 5 seconds, then disappears.Let me clarify our problem, we GET the alerts, I see them under the alerts tab, but they are no longer audible/pop-up notification. I would.Would it be best to scan the printer before beginning the work in the IS tasklist?
The iPods don't have vibration, unfortunately, but yes. The guy at the CSC went through the the same "make sure the volume is up, make sure blah blah blah. Eventually I got the second call from them and that was when he told me RCs are considered "Alerts Low" and don't get a pop up notification/sound on the iPods or PDAs anymore.Have you tried making sure the device's volume is turned up and has vibration enabled? And yes I hate that the Pop up is only up for 5 seconds and then goes away. If you don't look quick it's gone, then you have to navigate to REDwire to see what it was.Have you tried making sure the device's volume is turned up and has vibration enabled? You can also use the old alert exclamation point on the toggle screen to see what alerts popped up. Probably faster than navigating redwire's wonderful interface. And yes I hate that the Pop up is only up for 5 seconds and then goes away. That is actually one of their plans, being able to communicate with them. When the price scanners turn into ipad minis the idea was a quest could hit the button on it and it'd call a team member. Also on their wishlist was being able to pick up calls with a my device.I was hoping to come across information maybe people are finding out they can do more than what they originally thought with the mydevices... so far though reading through the pages I have only seen complaints or positives about them.
While the functionality of the mydevices is still not recommended for daily tasks I have to say that personally I enjoy carrying it around and using it as a tool to find items for guests. The pictures feature where it will actually show you what your looking for is amazing. It's helped my multiple times already in trying to figure out what the heck a guest is talking about. Sometimes trying to understand some people is the most frustrating part of the job but the whole pictures thing and being able to access all the target apps and site quickly is really nice.
Now if we could just get some talk functionality via skype or facetime we'd be cooking here. I think if we were able to communicate with other stores (ONLY) it could really help in a way to help guests even more efficiently.
It's nice until you search for items and 90% of them don't have pictures. It's probably only for target.com items that are also sold in stores. The communication thing will only work if redwire is substantially improved. All of our devices should really be tied into the timeclock so they will stay logged in forever (until you clock out).I was hoping to come across information maybe people are finding out they can do more than what they originally thought with the mydevices... so far though reading through the pages I have only seen complaints or positives about them.

I forgot that was still clickable, and I know right. I've said that, but I go back to them every morning, lol.It seems like the myDevice fuctionality has been getting worse and worse, but maybe it's because of how often I go out of it's connectivity range. Everytime I go into a freezer or cooler, I'll lose the wifi which typically causes myWork to crash or force a relogin. So now I have to log back into myWork and Redwire so I keep getting alerts. If myWork has locked up, I have to end the app. Then relogin.
Our offstage/break areas also causes a disconnect. I don't know if this is intentional.
Sometimes too I'll be scanning, doing work, then suddenly the wifi symbol disappears, I get a ton of pop ups asking me to connect to a wifi(none of which will actually work). I try to go into settings and connect manually to the wifi, doesn't work either. Reboot.
All the disconnects seems to cause the scanner to stop functioning as well. So there's another reboot and relogin.
I don't know...I think I'm kinda done with them until we're forced to use them in 2015
