AE 2012 for Team Leaders (Current) is going to be pretty cool.

Don't know if I want to spoil the fun just yet. :p
 
Well, seeing as Core Roles are up, I suggest everyone check them out!
 
I have read the core roles for tl-hl on workbench. It's ugly for me. More leadership expectations, & paperwork. Ck it out.
 
I noticed the new edition to the list this year, Pricing and Presentation Team Leader. I didnt believe the rumors at first... but i guess this confirms it.. Wonder whats going to happen to current TLs in ULV stores who hold those positions. Im surprised they havent combined backroom and flow in ULV stores at this point.
 
I'm getting scared, what kind of changes are coming? Is something happening to pay? I've seen that come up around here a few times.
 
Essentially the changes as far as I understand them (I haven't read the specific guide to this so keep that in mind)... Is that D Volume stores will combine Pricing and Presentation Team Leaders and will lose a HLTL position as well and have the CTL take over more HL roles... So that leaves them with 1 HLTL, 1 SLTL, and 1 CTL for salesfloor (they still have 2 GSTLs though? kinda stupid there)...

Paygrades will also change for TLs... PG11 is for starting TLs and they will work their way up the PG chart (11 is starting, 13 is later, and 15 is for those with ETL potential)... Senior TLs are also for your hipo TLs so ULV stores should give those positions out first to their TLs with ETL potential, and probably won't have any PG15 spots... high volume stores don't have many if any Senior TLs so they will receive more PG15 positions for their TLs...

Do you know if the paygrade changes affect current TLs? Our store has been really quiet about all of this, but I have been off this weekend. February always makes me a little nervous, as AE gets worse and worse every year.
 
SuperTTM: I do not believe that they can take away pay from those current TL's. I think this will just apply to those TL's who are starting out.

I work in a volume D store with two HL SrTLs and no HLTLs that aren't senior (besides the CTL). What do you think will happen to them? Also, do you know anything about Food Ave and Starbucks TLs in a volume D store? Our FATL transferred to another store a few months ago and they interviewed people for it, but supposedly they're not hearing back until like March. Is this because they're possibly eliminating one of the positions?

And does anyone know anything about the rumors that instocks is drastically changing with AE12? I'm up for a promotion to BRTL, but I'm still worried about this.

I haven't read the specifics... If I had to speculate I would guess your pay would be the same as before, but your paygrade may have been lowered (meaning a lower cap) similar to the treatment of the specialist position in the last few years... In a way that sucks, but if you are at the same pay at PG11... That means you have two paygrades ahead of you to get more money!

You can't really guess at this kind of thing... There are TONS of possibilities when it comes to staffing... They could transfer and take a spot at another store (who could performance someone out to make room too!), they could performance out any leader in the building and shuffle them around to make the changes... Its just too tough to say without knowing the store very well! These happen every year, and they have a few months to figure out how they want to handle the staffing... If the Seniors are hipo, I would guess that somebody would take FATL who is on the salesfloor right now, and then shuffle the SFTLs around to make their positions fit best... but that is a huge guess...

I don't know about Instocks changes... That isn't apart of AE and would be included in some other roll out... Just be prepared for anything because you never know where Target will take the process..
 
This is one year I don't have to worry about AE12, etc., since I am no longer a team lead. They will always need some old veteran team member to do their dirty work...and that's me, of course. Give me the shifts that no one wants...the dirty jobs that no one wants...call me at 4AM if someone calls off...work me every weekend, closing shift, holiday, etc....I don't care.

That's hows its been at my ULV store for months now, 1 CTL, 1HLTL, 1 SLTL. To be honest im surprised they haven't done away with those positions completely at my store. Our current sales floor leaders don't PTM (instocks and the execs do), don't do sales planners (plano does all of them), i feel like they are just overpaid zoners who work 32 hours a week. At an ULV store your biggest expense is payroll, so lowering TL headcount makes the most sense. Our own sales floor exec approached me and asked "Does our CTL even do anything around here?". Sorry i turned it into a little rant, but you get my point.

Food Ave AL and Starbucks TL have been combined in all D- volume stores that I know of already (granted, that's only 5, but still)

I bet your store was just waiting on one of them to leave. Not sure why they were interviewing peoplefor it, if that were the case though. My guess is the FATL won't be replaced.



Can anyone tell me what stores do when they are too high on TL head count when the new AEs role around? Do they just wait for someone to quit/ step down until they are at the correct number? This will be my first year really dealing with AE, I'm a little scared so far.
