Archived Bereavement pay

My friend works at a UDC, and he was asked to provide proof. Should he show them the page that this came from? Maybe I'm reading the question wrong, but it seems like it's saying they can ask all they want, but you can say no

Why not just show proof? They only need a copy of the flyer from the funeral or something similar.
