In the past they have bumped everyone up the appropriate amount (making sure that everyone knows that it wasn't that they deserved it or anything).
Who knows what they are going to do now.
On the one side I would like to think it would look bad for them to pull that crap on you.
And if they do I would suggest you make some calls to the Governors office and the local news.
On the other the corporations have pretty much decided that playing chicken on the minimum wage issue is worth their while.
They figure there is enough support for their side to nip this current effort in the bud.
Meanwhile they will toss up as much chaff as possible to keep people confused on the issue.
It's exactly like how the cigarette companies spent years telling us that there was no connection to lung cancer.
Same PR firms just different branch of 'science'.

If you're suggesting economics, that's patently absurd.

Actually I was talking about The Employment Policies Institute which provides a huge amount of the 'studies' and funding for anti minimum wage operations.
They are actually the creation of lobbyist Rick Berman, who heads Berman & Co., a Washington, D.C. public relations firms that represents restaurant, hotel, alcoholic beverage and tobacco industries.
This is the guy that pushed the theory that second hand smoke was safe.

Berman explained the focus of his lobbying efforts, which mirror his non-profit groups' activities.
"In effect, our work is restricted to and focused on issues that affect shareholder value," he said.
"These big issues include labor costs as they relate to health insurance and the minimum wage."
He also stated that he attacks the activists and their science more aggressively than other lobbyists.
"We always have a knife in our teeth," he said.

But you're talking about people in general being confused on the issue (the confused ones in your opinion being those against a minimum wage or a higher min wage). You think that some lobbyist is responsible for a minority of people believing minimum wage laws are harmful? It's a viewpoint that is founded on basic economic principles, not online pseudo-research. If you think it's wrong, cool, but give us a little more credit than that.

And the union lobby is much bigger than Rick fucking Berman.

Well, since his asto-turfing organizations are non profit he has refused to say where and how much his funding has been but ...
For the anti-union organization CENTER FOR UNION FACTS / EMPLOYEE FREEDOM ACTION COMMITTEE (yes, they like to do everything in bold letters and they lie A LOT) the chamber of commerce pledged millions of dollars and Smithfield Foods paid even more during there protracted S.

And just recently the bought the license to Justin Bieber's face to use him for a billboard saying that he was sad about the raise in minimum wage.
Man, whoever came up with that one needs to be fired out of a cannon.
