Service & Engagement Can I speak to a manager?: A front end thread

depends on the day but we are normally pretty understaffed. but the most I've ever seen it at is 11 (we have 12 spots? I think?). Regardless, We aren't the number 1 store for DU but no way we aren't up there. Normally on weekends during the rush, we have like 2-4 TMs? Depends on the time and hours. But the difference between us and the number 1 store is we have a much bigger parking lot and we are the biggest store in our state.

While we only have 24 "official" spots, we have 7 makeshift spots from our old signs/sandwich boards to give us 31 spots. Fulfillment averages over 10,000 units a day, and on the S&E side of things, we process about 700-1000 OPUs/DUs a day depending on the day of the week or if anything's going on. We also have over 20 people scheduled for Order Pickup usually, and over 30 people scheduled for Fulfillment. For instance, last Sundays grid had 21 TMs for OPU/DU, and 35 for FF. We also don't have SFS, so all those TMs are just for Pickup. And the Flex team constantly needs backup too. Yay being UHV.

Your store sounds more or less the same as mine then. We only have 8 spots atm but they are full a lot of the time. The most I have seen that were arrived at one moment was 17. We are in the green pretty much every day. We are green for month to date and year to date. We don't have a DU door either. Azure's and St34's stores kick my stores ass LOL for DU sales at least.

We have a couple of the access points outside on the wall of the building and they do just fine lol. Cisco makes some pretty nice crap.

We heard we’re getting this too.
Are y’all also getting the big gas station roof thing with like 20 spots?
My store is getting the gas station roof thing. There is a supply issue but, hopefully before the end of the year.

Whoa. I get that for efficiency's sake since it's scaled up so much, but Drive Up feels like it needs close SETL supervision.
The SETL does watch and sends cashiers when times are getting high. We also always have a fulfillment TL from like 10:00-6:30 that does drive up and has an extra device to watch the fulfillment times and calls for backups when fulfillment needs help or helps a team member put an order to hold quickly if they don’t have much time.

Nice. Our FF TL might pull an order or two when he is hanging around.

Before I was a seasoned Electronics TM I exclusively closed and the first time I opened EVER was a huge funko pop drop and god the amount of calls I got that day.

Fast forward we sell out of the funkos (shocker) and a few hours later this guy comes in
G:" ARE YOU A MANAGER?????!?"
Me: "no, but I can get you one"
G: " I CALLED 10 MINUTES AGO AND A WOMAN ANSWERED AND SAID THAT YOU HAD PLENTY TO GO AROUND"

So I go get our LOD and told them a guest was throwing a tantrum and she comes over and he repeats what he said and LOD goes
"You said a woman answered? Only two people have the electronics like me (LOD is a woman ) and him ( i am a man ) and the only woman that could answer is me. Can I see the number you called?"
Mf called the wrong store.

In defense on the guest, there are two Targets based off the same street. Let's call this street Angus street. A much older Target is called the Angus Target, we are off the same street but we aren't the Angus target. Guest called the Angus Target

I have similar confusion with my store. My store is town name Target, the store 5 minutes down the road is still in our town but they are named after the mall they share a lot with.

So many people would get angry with me thinking we were them and id do the same tactic

Same at my store. we're confused with the one 15 mins from us even though we have different names, are on different roads, and in different towns

What’s up with returning Consumer Cellular phones? Even when the phone is purchased at our store and the guest has the receipt we get an error msg. It says that the phone can only be returned by tech. Of course we aren’t a store that still has tech.

The ONLY reason I can think of is for an electronics TM to make sure that everything is in the box but that's just about it.
with prepaid phones though it's usually just the phone and a charger though, GS can check that. if the sim was missing it wouldn't matter since they're worthless without the phone and are free anyways from carriers

Maybe to make sure they have no personal info on them, are unlocked, etc. I'm just guessing. I am glad they have to be done back there. I didn't like taking back phones.

Nope! There would be a hugggggegeeeeeee lawsuit if a returned phone goes to salvage. They should always goto CRC where it goes back to the MFR and they probably scrap it for parts or refurb it.

I’ve seen some phones like Tracfones and even an iPhone SE one time went to salvage. Don’t know why the system chose salvage.

One time I had a guest in electronics come up and go "the screen on this looks really bad" on like a 300 dollar laptop. and he whips out his 1K+ Macbook Pro (and by the way opened it to porn) and I swear goes "Why doesn't it look like that"

I had to explain how he is comparing a Honda to Bently. and was DEADSET on wiping this laptop IN store. I told him "Sir that could take over an hour, these go back to the manufacture and they wipe the drives there" and he got so angry with me "YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND I HAVE BANKING INFO ON THIS".

if you're buying a 300 dollar laptop and wondering why it's bad you probably are a poor businessman.
