MEGATHREAD myDay app

We tried my day app for the first time to pull our market batches . It makes a single batch for the whole market but I opted out the produce and deli to just get the dry market . I did may be a 100 tasks and the app just stopped working . It was showing some error which I should have noted but I didn’t. My TL also tried and got the same error. So I switched back to old Move app. But there I saw the last 20-30 tasks were repeating again .
Myday app was also timing out pretty fast which was frustrating . Now it seems to be up again but I chose to continue with move app for today .

You should be able to sort the pulls by aisle which will make the market batches smaller. Look what in the upper right corner of the screen.

Some versions of myDay have fixed the issue of pulls disappearing. Since we got the update, we have not had a batch disappear.

So is this supposed to take the place of other apps eventually? Because no one has said anything about it to me, although that is not surprising since I rarely see my leaders, lol. I only pull one 4 ones and backstock for one Style department and I have almost nothing in my backroom aisle.

I think with the store wide sign campaign about street date. If a TM scans a street date item then some alert noise should play instead of the standard beep

If myStore ever had the ability to view street dated items I would have made it turn the app yellow.

Ok so now that most of the functionality is chain-wide I have had a chance to use some of it. I would have to use it for a week or two to give actual feedback but I can give initial first impressions which may change with time or as I adjust to a new workflow.

First Impressions/Things to Note:
  • Backstocking is a bit of a hassle to get into the mode but generally is faster in how long it takes to complete backstocking. I really like the flow once I get started but having to go into a special backstocking screen/sub-app is slowing me down as its a lot of “unlearning” the old way of just being able to scan a backroom location from Item Details. Maybe with time this will ease up but I find myself trying the old way and just getting details about the back room location then realizing I have to tap Home, Fill and Backstock, Backstock, scan, then I can actually do what I intended. Fill and Backstock should probably be two separate options on the home screen to avoid some additional steps. Seems dumb to hit Fill and Backstock then have the app immediately ask me if I want to Fill or Backstock.
  • As a Presentation Expert I generally am setting POGs for multiple areas of the store and I am not able to see that workload under “Set” unless I select myself as every area under General Merchandise but then I see pricing and pull workload for all areas as well. If I chose my area as Presentation in myDay I would like it to just show me all the workload without having to be in every area.
  • Item Fill (formally EXF) does not let you request more than the sales floor capacity now. This helps avoid overstocking the floor past capacity and causing unnecessary pulls when items sell. Backroom “Take” bypasses this for doing guest requests (it will ask if its for the sales floor/guest, choose yes)
  • Sales Floor locations there is a pencil icon for each location to change the sales floor capacity for that location. This to me looks too much like tapping on it would change the tie location/untie. Confusing UI here.

Feature Requests/Wants:
  • Since scanning a backroom location now shows the items in that location and details about the location itself can a button be added on that screen for purging the location (ie. forget all items in this location)? Might be helpful for moving items to new locations or ”auditing” without creating errors. Just a thought. I understand it could be a dangerous button and would probably need a confirmation.

Bugs as of myDay 1.7.23:
  • Metrics/Sales is super slow to load or fails to load all together (socket timeout error)
  • POG Images are not available in myDay
  • Fills/Pulls are crashing at a high rate (you may be forced out and the Fill may no longer be available). Use Move app (until Sept. 24) as a workaround.

Not Supported by MyDay (use MyWork):
  • Defects
  • Mispicks

I will edit this as I think of more things and will append full feedback in a couple days to a week once Ive used it longer. I think some of the first impressions I have may just be needing to unlearn a bit of the old way and get used to some of the changes/new workflow which is fine. I expect that to be something that slows me down a little bit. But there are definitely some areas of myDay that could use less digging through 3-4 actions (mainly backstocking) or some UX changes.

  • I seem to notice when on an item details screen the MyDevice is not properly going into sleep with inactivity. I wasted a lot of the battery having the screen on for like 45 min while the device was in the holster. It seems to be specific to myDay‘s scan screen.

Good job, @SuperTarget !

Noted. Now do you have an answer to the question?
More info is on workbench about it too.
From the other thread.

Thanks @SuperTarget

I’m having an issue where myDay isn’t showing POG images where myWork is. In myDay for Sales planners and transitions that should have images I’m just getting an image unavailable image. Switching to myWork for the same pog will show an image.

App Version: 1.7.22

Same here. With the same version.

saw the same yesterday and started chasing the thing that shares pog image w myDay. that is, we're on it and that will get sorted shortly.

Is this a server side issue where requests aren’t getting through or an actual issue with MyDay?

So backstocking in myDay...

Let’s say I have 10 eaches of something and I cannot fit all 10 in the same Waco/backroom location.

I want to put 3 eaches in one Waco and another 7 eaches in a Waco next to it.

currently if I scan the item, scan the first location, type 3 and hit done it won’t let me immediately scan another location without scanning the item again.

How I would expect this to work is once I scan an item I can then scan as many backroom locations as needed until I scan another DPCI/UPC.

Does this make sense?

Does anybody else have issues with myday crashing when pulling? Ive had it happen a few times now since the "update". Now the batches dont reappear for hours. Damn i hate it. Plus taking things out of wacos to move them around envolves too mamy steps now imo.

crash, like the app disappears and says it crashed, or more like your work disappears and you've gotta start over?
