MEGATHREAD Target myDevices

Under the Label Printing App for the PDAs it would allow you to print an unown missing item label by scanning the first label before and after the missing labels and it would let you select and print them. This functionality should be added to the MyWork app.

Also another cool feature under MyWork would be to allow you to MySupport an item or Planogram after scanning the item or label. This would allow for more time on the floor.

I've developed my own method for printing that missing label with a hip printer:
1.Make sure you're disconnected from the hip printer.
2.Scan/key the POG number.
3.Request a batch of All labels on the POG
4.Open the batch of labels
5.Find the label with the missing POG location
6.Type the DPCI associated with that label into the item search box
7. Reconnect to the printer
8. Hit Print signs and labels
9. Hit See All Options
10.Scroll down to the bottom where the POG location is listed, select it. (Label will print, batch will disappear)
11. Put up the label

Its always been hourly. I can count up to the second the hour hits and i stop getting alerts. I just set a reminder to log back in every hour and i don't miss anything. It was supposed to be 2 hours; don't know what happened to that.

Until recently I could go a whole shift. I'll add though that I am usually in redwire regularly checking alerts, so my activity level was not idol.

@OtherGuy Yes people are waiting stupid amounts of time since there doesn't seem to be a consistent with how the sled scanner comes on line. The previous update it seemed to be ok, but with this new update its out the window. I have not had much luck this last week with sleds coming on line on a consistent basis. It is beyond frustrating, Cause one you figure out the sled isn't coming on line you then have to see which fix actually works.. And that is hit and miss as well.

And it looks really bad to the guest, when you troubleshoot the thing and nothing works until you pull the thing apart and jerk the iPod out of the sled and reconnect it.
I was just talking to one of our teams and they are currently working with Honeywell on testing out new firmware for the sleds, so far no miracles yet, but it is a continued priority.

Since update 28, I've had no scanning sled initializer ion problems with any of the mydevices at my store. They always activate within 3-5 seconds. Any notifications that pop up though will disable the scanner. A quick lock and unlock fixes that every time, but it's a little annoying. Redwire alerts cause it, but the worst are the low battery notifications because you basically have to swap devices at that point since the battery notifications pop up incessantly when doing the lock/unlock method to deactivate the sled.
Do you not have the sled re-activate within 3-5 seconds? Because that's what happens on my MyDevice.

@OtherGuy this is my best attempt at a pic of the lint. Taking a pic of a phone case with a phone...not so fun.

I had to pull mine out three times today. Had the one I used yesterday without problems completely stop working randomly for another team member. Usually I might need to pull the asked once a week.

Also how do I check the sled battery life?
Thanks, and yeah that lint shouldn't cause any issues.

To check the battery life hit the options menu and scroll down you'll see it under info

For me, the sled hasn't reactivated after closing notifications. But maybe I haven't been waiting long enough. I'll try again when I work next.

Nope. I'm Cosmetics Brand/Cosmetics Specialist. They schedule me on Wednesdays to do the research for cosmetics, along with maintaining the zone over there. I push it.

Good for you. Not that way in every store.

Here's something I encountered the other day and today when doing price change. When trying to print a clearance ticket for an item that's been previously activated it gives you the option to print it but won't do anything. The odd thing is that it had been working most of the shift; at some point it decided to quit working. Quitting and reopening the application didn't help and auto print option was on. Has anyone else run into this?

Sweet, I'll try this out today, thanks.

Tried to wait after notifications last night. The sleds never reactivated. There were also a few times that the sled didn't activate anyway.
Interesting, thanks for taking a look at that!

@OtherGuy

Do you guys actually read the reviews of the MyWork app in S.A.M?

I haven't recently though someone else may be, I remember checking it in the beginning and it wasn't very constructive feedback. Has it gotten better? (I'll check once I get SAM running again on my test device as ironically yesterday it stopped working for me)

I'm not sure if this was an off day, but I went through 2 devices today. Both fully charged, yet the battery level would drop and spike up again,
with the scanner battery consistently showing a minimum of 90%. The first one shut down all together, even though the scanner battery was showing 95% 15 min before.

I had an idea for the MyWork app today - a scratchpad of sorts. It would just be a list that would allow us to add/remove DPCIs so we can click on the DPCIs and go to their respective pages. Then it would be very easy to pull at least small batches of items from the backroom or salesfloor if a guest is requesting multiple things or if we need to hit several locations to fill a spot on the floor.

There is an option to look at your last 20 scanned items. Just tap the person button on the top left, then scroll down to recent activity, I think. I think it would be even better if it showed the schematics for each item instead of having to click on each one (@OtherGuy )

One thing that I would like to see would be when we type in an aisle number to see what planograms are tied on it, would be that the planograms names can be touchable and go to that planograms. As of now I have to memorize the name. Sometimes I'm not so good that that. Also is there any update to the fix of the iPod taking into account the length of the plan to untie old plans? Had to do a lot of untiying with our electronics reset last week. @UIguy & @OtherGuy

I will have to dig around but I love One Note on my phone it can be a scratchpad, will look to see what if anything is on the iPod.

I just have to vent, so be warned.... At my store people still refuse to use the iPods. Like seriously, learn to use them! When all the functions of the PDA are removed except for back room, do not expect to come to me and have me answer questions! You have since fucking October to use them, learn them, and get used to them. I'm tired of not being able to pull something because people use a PDA when they don't need one. Either get used to change or get out. I can't wait until the day the PDA does nothing but back room functions.... Rant over.... Sorry just irritated, it is a Monday after all.
