This position will be re- defined along with " zogs" planos and sll that stuff- the company is looking to fuse visual in to soften up that " task" feeling

It will be defined better next year to focus on the core business zones- the visual layering into stores have already roven sales increases in our last couple of quarters- guests have stated in surveys they dont want to shop in " red" walmarts

Our VMTL is finding her hands tied in how much she can 'add some sparkle'.
I showed her many of the pics on here & she says she's been told to stick to the basic adjacency - no adding accessories or staging.
Very frustrating for her.

Then thats incorrect- I recieved an email from my vmml stating accessorize tastefully in moderation both in runway and non innovation home

They won't be cutting the position, it would make the new CEO seem weak and that he made a mistake or can't commit to developing the position and taking the co. in this new overall direction. Even if it's only for his ego, the VML position is staying.
Lol not this again. This position is getting cut in the future and we all know it.

Also- any of you remember that specific test of pictures they went thru on "right"&" wrong"VISUAL PRACTICES in home and rtw?also 3 more stores just added runway trend mannequins to stores in my region- and ive read theres MORE HOME INNOVATION stores planned for 2016- this " visual thing" is not going away- it will be refined and tweeked- but its not going awa
It will go away. Everyone else on the floor will have a new focus of visual merchandising, and our training will reflect that.
The ceo will look like a life saver when he cuts the position to save payroll.
This is true^^

Well Blue- # photo with a vml- #2 without a vml
It looks good you do a good job! But what does this prove to me?

Those aren't really good comparisons because it's not even the same display of product.

P.S. How many times are you going to post that same halloween picture?

Yeah, not seeing the purpose of the pictures. It's not a picture of an area, and then another picture of the same area after you transformed it or something. They're just random pictures, and most of them look fine.

You can't compare a clearance shoe wall to a mannequin. We won't all agree on what looks good/fine/best. I'm not opposed to your position's existence but Target's execution leaves a bit to be desired, I think.

I thought the job was now out of the test phase, though and that's why it went nationwide? Idk, I've been assuming they'd cut one of the older positions first and let this one ride out for a while. Idk. Guess we'll find out when AE comes around. May the odds be ever in your favor (oooh! maybe I should go see mockingjay tomorrow!)

That is going to be an interesting AE too with the changes to pharmacy.

I remember this adjacency. They don't seem much different than what the book said to dress them in, aside from the jacket and shirt hanging on the same hanger on the front of the hurdle.
Essentially a similar affect could be achieved by giving stores more hours and some brand team members. Or bring back the specialist positions.
