    Archived credit on debit

Some credit cards use a PIN. The RedCard MasterCard is a credit card, not debit, but you have to enter a PIN. They stopped issuing them years ago, so you probably don't see them much, but I use mine all the time.

    Archived Random POG Questions

When I started pog in 2008 we had battleships but nobody used them. By about 2010 they'd been thrown out.

    Archived Target v. Walmart Security

Here's an article about Walmart security problems that uses Target as comparison. Some really interesting info. Walmart’s Out-of-Control Crime Problem Is Driving Police Crazy

    Archived What are POGS?

Working Plano is a great way to learn all the store processes and get away from the horror of ringing. You get to work all over the store, including the backroom, and the work has tangible results so you can often feel you've actually accomplished something in an 8 hour shift. Plus you...

Archived Is Target is Outsourcing AP?

Saw this about Walmart apparently using the local police as their AP. Seems like Target has cut back AP in the last two years - could they be following Walmart's lead? Why would Walmart pay guards when it can make taxpayers pay for its security?

    To that one guest

Unless you've been trained for hazardous material cleanup you should be calling for someone who has been (generally CAs and ETLs.) Most TMs are only allowed to clean up food or water. I know I took great pleasure in calling for an ETL after a kid peed on the floor in toys.

Archived Who to talk to about cross-training?

Go directly to the Presentation TL and say you'd like to get some plano experience. Plano often needs extra hands for large sets or when a regular is out sick or whatever. The TL should be able to get you scheduled for some OJT shifts. If you like it, and they like you, you'll be in a good...

Archived Training in areas I know next to nothing about. Help!

Don't question why, just jump at the opportunity. Pricing and POG really are good jobs. For most of the year the hours can be really good, and at least for POG in many stores they mostly work only weekdays. You also get to work everywhere in the store, and get a chance to learn a lot about...

    Archived Taxes

I quit Spot earlier this year but my TM number and the password that I've used for years still works. Signed in yesterday to verify my email address. I'm sure W-2 access is the only thing my TM number is still good for though.

    MEGATHREAD Target myDevices

Go to a car parts store like Autozone. You can get sets of Torx screwdrivers or better a little folding set of 8 or ten Torx allen-type keys (often sold from a display shipper on the counter.) Lowe's and Home Depot should have them too. If you're friends with an auto mechanic they can get...

    Archived What are the chances...

Last year, IIRC, the doorbusters were available on Target.com all day on Thanksgiving. I ordered three camera kits as gifts for family and got them no problem. Our store only had two, and they were sold real quick. So it's worth trying to order what you want Thanksgiving morning. Nothing...

    Archived Greeters

My store had greeters for fourth quarter one year - around 2010 or 2011 I think. We did it in rotation - everyone on the floor did their half-hour according to a schedule the HRTM wrote up. You got called over the walkie and had to drop what you were doing and go up. Just one more hated...

Having a big birthday cake in the break room the last day of every month. Salesfloor scavenger hunts. First one to come back with all the correct locations got a Target dog. Actually I don't miss the scavenger hunts - just miss that we had time for them. Having a big enough backroom (before...

    MEGATHREAD Target myDevices

So the real problem is the charger/sled manufacturer who can't design and build charger that works seamlessly. You should be able to just place the MyDevice in the charger and have it charge - no mess, no fuss, no tapping, no having to wait to see if it starts charging. My Canon camera...

    Archived Star Wars Event

Used to be you had to scan an item at a register or a guest scanner to see if something was hard-locked. Now if you scan an item with the MyDevice it shows the street date if it has one. Made my life a lot simpler when I was setting MMB as some New Releases set in multiple locs that you might...

    Archived Did I hit compliance?

You didn't hit compliance, but you may have come closer than you think. You said you started at 7:00 - but did you punch in at exactly 7:00? The clock will let you punch in up to 5 minutes early, so if you punched at 6:55 you came within 3 minutes of compliance.

Archived PICK LABEL: IN DEPTH ANALYSIS

Actually it's very logical. Each POG contains product that logically fits together. Take the paperback books aisle as an example. The first section contains books that bookclubs like, and the "Bookclub" POG is only one section long because all the bookclub type books fit easily in one...
