There should be a Logistics TL (atleast). If not only to fill in on the other departments TL's days off, or vacations. It would only lead to a (Outside interpretation) of what could be done better, or what is wrong, which I can't think how this would be bad thing.

Also, Logistics, period, is the #1 thing that keeps every retail store, reliable, and shop-able, (This doesn't even get into the SFS side of Logistics, which is literally all Logistics, and Target's hope at a future, so long as it isn't bought out by Amazon).

I left the paperwork but there is still a lead over flow and backroom... They are just called something different. There will also be fufillment lead over sfs.

We were told today, and I feel like I’ll be the odd man out that is gonna either be asked to take a GSTL position or a transfer.

Was told pay will remain the same. Gonna be interesting trying to find a store to transfer to now.

Coverage won't be an issue there is 2-3 tls for most areas and the small ones like beauty will have the etl close by. Logistics still exists as a GM lead. They just aren't the only one dealing with it there is 3

The GM Leads oversee the processes still needing unloads and stockers so they also run the truck. It's 3 of them now vs 1 flow tl. They just need to make sure the truck is unloading and the departments are doing their thing sfs and opu is also under GM.

Trying to get info out of my friend who works in sister district that's piloting this. Target can't half-ass something like this, but I'm sure they will. Only way BR will succeed here is if there's absolutely minimal stuff in the back. Meaning DC would have to not have their head up their ass.

then why does the big red and khaki machine keep beating us with sticks? cutting our hours taking the equipment that works and replacing it with stuff that doesn't (it'll get an update… which will be buggy), oh and did I mention the hours being cut? and hey why don't we hire more people so we can cut more hours?

this company doesn't know jack squat about logistics and to prove it look no farther than our dear Canadian brothers and sisters.

our DTL's need some kinda of brain transplant. I would settle for them actually getting their precious little selves out of their gilded cages and talking to the upright neanderthals that they think the logistics team is.

and one last question as I slowly back away from the the out of nowhere rant, why on the blessed wings of Elune does my store still have snow pants racked up in the backroom? I mean seriously they've been on that rack since before thanksgiving.

Yes, logistics will no longer exist. You will have managers over food, front end, style, and general merchandise but this one is Log/Hardlines combined.

I didn’t take a copy of it home but I will see what I can do to sneak one and give out the exact information.

Also, at this point I find it funny that all the TMs are pointing out the obvious issues with the plans, and they are all things not even on the radar of the general leadership teams. These are all ideas that sound good on paper, but in execution do not have the ability to work given the current environment. For example, have we done anything to actually improve our truck process? Nope... so why do they think it takes less time now than 5 years ago?

What happens to Presentation and Pricing under this new model? Are they phased out again or do they remain?

From my understanding, they will be phased out (at least in an official capacity). Everything that's not a specialty center (beauty, electronics, style) or food falls under "general merchandise" which will be one team. Hypothetically, though, you could have distinct teams within that unbrella title and people could continue on as usual. I'm curious, though, if they will require stores that had an overnight or 4am plano team to transition dayside.

So who goes through the weekly signing Pallet/Supplies, when their is no Signing Bitch?
Who will they look to, when they need help figuring the vast concept of Duct Tape, to fix a problem (now that I can't use a Drill, but the Pallet stacker? absolutely fine).
Who will they look to, for answers for everything under the sun.
If their is no Signing TM, the PMT's life is going to be fuckin hell.

Yes don’t get me started on the seemingly random grouping of the SNCK fillgroup. Why the heck even have them in Grocery if they don’t match up to the sales floor in any obvious way!
That’s strange. Both our old and new, post-remodel, sets had aisles pretty much by fillgroup.

No longer pmt. There pml and they report directly to pmbp. Other then that there wasn't any info regarding pm.

Made a throwaway account for this since my other account on here would more then likely give me away.

AP is also going to something like this. Etlap->aps->tps now becomes ap leader->security specialist->security expert. This is for a super target so not sure about stores with just an aptl or other combinations.

The ap leader reports directly to their apbp and no longer to the stl. From what I heard Ap leaders will also focus exclusively on ap which means no more lod shifts or wearing red and khaki and being exclusively in plain clothes. They will be doing mostly mid shifts 9am-7pm, 12pm - 10pm, etc. Also heard that apbp will have more control and say over the security specialist (aps) and security expert (tps) scheduling. So far there is no updates on anything about what changes come to aps and tps but it sounds like it will be continuing the trend of more guest engagement stuff.
My etlap has a meeting later this week and hopefully will find out more.

Yeah, to @BigEyedPhish point, I’d like to hear from anyone involved in this pilot if any changes come to PM?

The more and more, I read about this, I feel that instead of a VM/Signing merger, it will be more of a PTL/Signing merger, (Which will literally be the VM of Hardlines (Home/Etc.s). While the other will own Softlines. If teams are owning their owning transitions, (whereby, the TL of the area schedules what/when transitions are done, and by who, and not this new found position) this is the only aspect that could possibly make sense.

I have no problems taking this position if it becomes available, as it is exactly what I do already.

Except...

Way
way
less...

There's no more LOD period... STL which is changing to Store Director will be in charge when ever s/he is in the building.. instead of calling LOD you call the lead or leader of the area that you need help with.
