Since corporate may or may not lurk this site, I thought it would be useful to have a thread where people can share and vent, towards corporate. Kind of like the "to that one team member" thread. In this case, directly to the source.

I'll start....

Dear Corporate...
Please explain why I have 20 hours the week of BLACK FRIDAY!

Dear Corporate-

Cool that your offering a $500 gift card this year to one lucky tm and $500 the charity of their choice but It's unfair to make seasonal tms qualify. If I had a dollar every time I heard "Customer" I'd have $500 by now....

I've only said customer once and that was just to fuck with my SRTL. The look on her face was priceless. But, anyway, I'm there 35+ hours a week and waking up at 5am to do so. I want my gift card. Oh wait, I got one last week for being the only TM to answer calls for help at the front all day. I'll take the $500 one too though and deserve it as much as you.

Cramming the BR full of product, while taking away pallet spaces for the new unload, requiring us to put everything on U-boats (that don't really fit in the BR, on the line,) "forbidding" the use of pallets on the floor after opening, and getting rid of 80% of the tubs, along with the new unload process and stocking all day (when the store is busy with guests down the aisles) is a GREAT idea right before during 4th quarter.

/sarcasm

we can hardly move around in our BR. U-boats in the aisles are blocking the product guests want to buy.

We used to come clean most of the time.

Dear Corporate, I don't know who you had design the Seasonal/Mini pogs this year, but wow, are they awful! No cardboard bins for ornaments or stocking stuffers was a very poor choice if you were not also going to send extra shelves and wire dividers. And telling us in the Transition Communication to order 170+ dividers was a nice CYA thing to do for yourself, but you must not understand how SAP works. When something is ordered it takes weeks to get in it if you are lucky. By the time my dividers come in for Seasonal, Christmas will be practically over so what's the point of putting the dividers then??

And don't even get me started on the Seasonal power pole situation either....🤔🤬

Dear corporate, quit sending signing that has SIGNING SPECIALIST printed on it. The position hasn't existed for years. And if you do eliminate the signing tm position, that's it. I'm not handling one more piece of signing that comes in the store. And no more tidying up the fixture room. That way, when the stl asks me where such and such is, I can tell her to have her dog fuck her.

Stocking should be complete before 10 am at the latest.

A dedicated flow team that comes in early (or over night) should be stocking.

Then have a dedicated team member for a few departments/aisles to do stuff like help guests, shoot Audits, touch up endcaps, etc -- you know, how it used to be when we had a bunch of TLs on the floor before the slashing of the positions.

Don't dismantle the specialty teams like Flow, BR, POG, Pricing. They should be like ninjas. Highly trained.

Stop flooding the stores with so much softlines product. It just sits in the BR 'cause the floor is full, no one has time (or bothers to restock the floor) cause they are so busy pushing the new truck, helping guests, doing reshop, zoning, etc.

Go back to allowing us to have payroll to zone through out the day, and push autofills/reshop/help guests. Gives us zoners for the closing shifts, too.

Dear corporate,
In my humble opinion, highly trained, knowledgeable, hard working veteran team members are your greatest asset. They keep the stores functioning through any/all changes you would like to see implemented. Please answer how stores will function if you force them out ? Have you talked to any of the new hires? Mostly a Sad group of clueless, unmotivated, down right lazy useless bodies, not afraid of subordination. Please wake up and utilize the individuals you have invested to train that have the capability of keeping your stores open. One veteran IS worth at least 3 noobs, really. At least keep a few so that the blind are not leading the blind! I have overheard training that is just incorrect ! How is that an improvement ? The plane is spiraling downward while you torture and kill the pilot. Don’t bite off the hand that feeds you. Cutting off your nose to spite your face not smart.

That’s an easy one. You really don’t see ? Answer: Because of all the new hires of course, they need hours too and there is a finite number available.

Fixture room attendant could be a full time job. Like in an auto parts store/car dealership repair, go up to the window and ask for what u need and return it for them to re-stock properly. Cool.

POG team is too vital to dismantle. I see salesfloor being able to handle guests, signing, zoning, re-shop, push, back stock, Instocks, pricing, maybe even revisions, and the general logistics of the merchandise in a distinct area, and become an expert at that very section. However, transitions are so disruptive and sometimes impossible to do as a single individual within a reasonable amount of time that the ninjas are needed to get in and out. How long would it take to change seasonal if there wasn’t a dedicated team ? Weeks. And a mess the whole time. Even better is a ‘while store is closed’ transition team. Cause guests hate us in their way and it is impossible to change a whole section of the store with entire aisles shifting while only using one cart.

Have some compassion, you were new once. You’re talking about your peers, be inclusive.

Do you

Spend your time finding solutions instead of complaining. Do your part to fix it. Change is hard but there must be a way to make it work. Different is not always wrong.

Dear Corporate (falsetto voice)
I want a red bicycle, a pony and insurance benefits for my mommy.
I like because I get tired of the entitlement attitude for doing your job. Why must corporate buy you a Starbucks ? You paycheck is your reward. Extra Recognition should be ‘good job’ or ‘thank you’, not a prize. Slippery slope for raising the bar of ‘i’ll Only do it if I get something extra ‘ !!

Dear Corporate..A 4am or later unload do NOT work in all stores. It might work in smaller Targets but SuperTargets need to be overnight. Modernization does NOT work in any size store. So man-up, admit you made a mistake, and let us fix the mess so we can get back to what works.
This, bring overnight back! It makes a lot more sense to do all that when there are no guests on the floor. It’s always a cluttered mess until 1pm

Agreed. Frustrating that it’s our fault someone else “cleaned” by throwing away what they Assumed were Extra fixtures (shelves & dividers) in the way right before we needed them.

That’s an easy one. You really don’t see ? Answer: Because of all the new hires of course, they need hours too and there is a finite number available.

Based on previous years, even with seasonal help, there isn't enough help. We underspent on hours last year. That's definitely going to be the case this year. I expect I'll end up working a full week anyway, so why not schedule that to begin with? Clearly there's hours.

This isn’t really directed at corporate, but to the individual leadership at my store-

PLEASE BRING BACK DEDICATED SIGNING SHIFTS FOR AD TAKEDOWN. When you make everyone responsible for ad takedown in their own department, you’re splitting the responsibility among like 6 people. That’s risky. Last Sunday morning, I had to take down HBA and Chemicals signs because they weren’t taken down the night before. Have one responsible team member do it Saturday nights.

My guess is cause the schedule is made with the belief that the new tm can get done what you can when you are there, but they can’t so when they don’t perform then you are called in to pick up the slack to do what they should have done but didn’t.
